How long does it take to receive a secondary application? I submitted my primary 9/6.. not sure what their baseline cutoffs are.

Is anyone else waiting for a secondary application?

I am still waiting for a secondary as well!! My primary was verified 7/31

omg same.... what could they possibly make us do in a group over zoom??? ack
and the individual interview isn't mmi is it?
Their website says the individual interview is traditional, but I'm also curious to see what the group activity will be since it's virtual!

I've been wondering this too!! Also interviewing on 9/25, I'm so nervous about these group activities

Just got my schedule! It's looking way too real at this point and I am nervoussssss. To my fellow 9/25ers, best of luck!!! See ya'll on the other side (or tonight at the social lol)

so nervous too! do you know if the individual interview is 15 or 55 min? the individual schedule blocks off the whole 55 min but the original sched in the portal says 15......

Ahhhhhhh IT'S OVER!!! To anyone else stressing about this interview- I was super stressed and it ended up being conversational and fun, just go into it with confidence and you will do great!

Even the group interview? Kinda worried that it’s gonna be very “gunner” with applicants trying to one-up each other...

Just finished interviewing here. Long day for sure but It's pretty well planned out and I had no difficulties navigating the schedule they provided! Overall, totally relaxed day and I enjoyed my time. I was worried about the group exercise/interview but you WILL be prepared, don't fret. I did not do extra prep or anything for this aspect. They didn't try to trip us up and it was conversational albeit slightly awkward over Zoom. The individual interview was soo easy going and I loved the way my interviewers interacted with me.

Just finished interview day. Thought CU did a great job keeping everything organized. We had more breaks than expected which was nice.

I actually really enjoyed the group activity & group interview. The individual interview to me felt pretty condensed and I got asked like 7-8 questions in 15 minutes (which ended up going over). They said we'd hear back in 4-6 weeks either way.

Yes! I was concerned about this as well but based on how kind and encouraging the fellow applicants in my group were/ the overwhelming chill vibe of everyone I don't think it'll be an issue at all. And if there is a gunner acting like that trust me admissions will not look fondly on them haha.

Was the individual interview open file or closed?

I have some substantial updates I'd like to share with Colorado and didn't get the chance to do it at interview day. Does anyone know if they accept update letters and how I would do that? Thanks in advance!

Edit: Answered my own question lol. The University of Colorado School of Medicine does not accept any application updates including the submission of new material to our office.

Yeah, it's a bummer! My GPA is going up this semester and I'll have some more volunteer and work experience of interest that I wish I was able to update them on.

How badly will adcoms see it if in my secondary I referred to this school as "UCSOM" rather than "CUSOM" twice? Checking back on all my secondaries and I don't know how I let that one slip through.

I can’t speak for them but I can’t imagine they’d be bothered by it, UCSOM also makes sense as an acronym so it’s an understandable substitution.

Hey everyone - For those who interviewed, is there any advice you guys can shed to us? Anything you would have added to your interview prep or just the standard (e.g. read over app, primary, research school, etc)?

Thank you all, just really hopeful for this program. 😊

Hello There!

I'd say make sure to read over your primary/secondary, practice common interview questions, and also have some anecdotes in mind to add to your answers. For the group interview and activity, just make sure to be collaborative but at the same time assertive enough so you don't fall into the background. Overall, it's a pretty low key interview!

For those who have interviewed, can you confirm that the interviews aren't MMIs? On the Web Interview tab on the portal, it says "Your MMI Prompt will appear prior to the start of each interview, giving you time to read and review the MMI Scenario prior to your interview." and I'm panicking

Colorado is NOT MMI. It’s a group exercise, group interview and individual interview along with a couple of presentations!

Has anyone met with the team about the rural program and could offer any insight into what exactly the style is? Not sure if it's going to be an interview or more informational

I was verified 9/10 and still haven't gotten a secondary... i'm debating on emailing them. thoughts? I know they are pre-screening.

I was in the same boat. I emailed the admissions committee and received a secondary within those next couple of days

did colorado release dates for when admissions decisions are made?

@SouthernGeorgiaPines: see @boulderdoc1 's response here about post-II decision timeline. I believe applicants who don't receive an II won't hear back until Spring 2021 once CUSOM is confident they won't need to extend any more IIs. Not sure that there is ever an exact date published but would imagine it is ~Feb/March 2021.

Just saw this on their website (Timeline & Dates to Remember). Not sure if the 4-6 weeks applies to 9/25 interviewees or not but 11/15 would be 7 weeks lol.

Anyone interviewing tomorrow? Have you received the link to the Main Applicant Zoom Room yet? They said in their email that they would send it later this week, but interview day is tomorrow and nothing yet...

I was wondering about that too because I haven't received it either. I'm guessing they'll send it tomorrow morning but we can always ask the med students at tonight's social!

has anyone received a secondary recently?
