In the ‘complete for review’ email, it said decisions will be made known by June 1st
I don’t know if I can wait that long especially since I know my biggest hole is my MCAT. I might call as well to be able to study for the MCAT with peace of mind before next cycle instead of hoping for the best this cycle and screwing myself next cycle.

Everything else (waitlist movement) is until June 1st.
I’m not sure about that. March 15 is the date that AAMC has set for med schools to offer at least the amount of acceptances as seats. The PowerPoint and email said all applicants will know their status by June 1 and also says you can come off the waitlist as last as August.

So now I’ll have to choose between SIU, UIC, & a pending Cincinnati. Please for the love of God, come through for me Cincy...
Looool same. I got another A, def not my first choice 😶 I’ll take it though, can’t do this application stuff another year. Hoping that my other waitlists come through so I can give my seat to some other deserving applicant. But until then (or forever) I will take it and move on!

My interview was 1/6 almost everyone from my date heard February 15. It is now march 15 and I have still yet to hear any news. Should I reach out and ask about the status of my application?

That’s when I interviewed and I haven’t heard anything either. I think it’s safe to assume we’re on the waitlist, unfortunately. I’m not sure how much emailing them would do other than confirming that information, but if it would make you feel better, you could email them.

I personally wouldnt. There are still people from the fall who havent heard anything since they’ve only released acceptances. So if they’re waitlisting or rejecting you, you wouldnt have heard anything no matter when your interview was. I know it seems like everyone from your date has heard but i guarantee that’s not true, only some people use sdn

Maybe this is just me, but I’d honestly rather get rejected than get pulled off the waitlist two days before classes start. This was my only II- LM 69, IS, and I interviewed on 1/6. I’ve received admission to a couple masters programs I’m pretty keen on (at schools with a much bigger name than IU), and it would kind of suck to have moved in across the country, start my classes, and then get a call saying I have 48 hours to get my **** back to Indiana for classes. Call me crazy but I would prefer an R to that.

It’s crazy how similar stats we are. I interviewed the same day, IS, and LM 68. I have different plans for my gap year, but I agree it is very obnoxious the waitlist can be. I want to start looking for health care related jobs, but no place is going to accept me for just the summer, but I also could end up not getting off the WL and then I’m stuck doing nothing this summer and then not a good job for the gap year as well.

according to whom exactly is today the last decision date? The application under review email says final decision by June 1st....

From what I saw throughout sdn and last year trend it look like March 15th was the most promising date for an acceptance with the rest being followed by waitlist. However I do hope that I am wrong and that April has acceptances as well

According to AAMC- it’s the last decision day for regular acceptances. Also, according to IU itself. I had a friend who interviewed in February and he said he was told in the info session that all normal acceptances would be handed out by today. If we haven’t heard yet we’re either on the waitlist or rejected. Apparently based on past years waitlist notifications will start April 15 and then we could be pulled off theoretically as late as a couple days before classes. June 1 means they have to let us know about our status (waitlist or rejection) but if we get waitlist we could get pulled off it whenever. Although I am curious, did anyone who interviewed in Feb hear back today?

To be fair the March 15 date from AAMC is solely for the minimum amount of acceptance offers to fill the class and students can still be accepted after that. Also, I interviewed in February but didn't hear that so maybe I was zoned out or it was a different day but no, nobody I know from Feb has heard back but again there's probably more than just what's on SDN.

I also interviewed in February. I’m really curious if anyone at all from feb was accepted? I’m sure there are some unless we were interviewing for waitlist positions
