Just got a waitlist email! Interviewed late October and received an invite from the student ambassador to do a Zoom call but no post-interview communication from my interviewers. I sent a letter of intent in January. I'm grateful that I at least still have a chance! Wishing the best of luck to all of you.

Also got the WL email, actually happy with that decision as I thought the R was coming :’)

Got WL email. Sent a letter of interest, had communications with students and interviewer, no highly ranked letter. URM

WL too. Do you know how many placed on the waitlist?
I don’t think there’s any way of us knowing. Best guess is that this year is the same as MSAR reported data which is 300 WL spots (between all campuses I believe).

Also got the WL this morning. Interviewed in October, received post-II contact from my interviewers and had a zoom call with the student admin.

+1 WL, interviewed in January and sent in a LOIntent. No other post-II communication apart from emailing with current students.

Just got the WL email. They are most certainly rolling. I am C in the alphabet if anyone is curious if it's based on alphabet. Good luck to everyone. You are all amazing and going to be such fantastic doctors!
That was what I was wondering. I was the first reported on the MN thread and my last name is very early if we're going alphabetically

WL, name is middle of alphabet. Interviewed in January, received email post-II from interviewer, sent letter of interest but not intent.

WL (very happily surprised). Interviewed in December, no highly ranked email, no contact from interviewers/students/adcom. Bombed an interview, but sent a letter of interest. Also, towards the end of the alphabet if that's still of interest

I got a WL today as well. I saw some half or full tuition scholarships being reported here and on the Minnesota thread which really surprised me, didn't know Mayo was that generous. Do you guys think people accepted off the waitlist would still be considered for those?

Fun fact: Mayo was virtually tuition free for everyone until about ten years ago.

And yes, people on the waitlist can still get excellent scholarships. It’s both merit and need-based.

Ok this gives me hope! Fingers crossed I can just get off the waitlist now...

hi all, just wanted to confirm that if we were accepted, there is nothing else to currently do besides accept the offer and fill out the demographics form?

I have not. Did they say we should be receiving something?
I don't think so, I was just curious if they do send anything. I tried looking at last year's thread and didn't see any mention of a physical packet.

For the crew who got waitlisted and already sent an LOI, what do we do now? I feel like I need to send something but have no clue what
I think this will be unique for each person based on the situation. It may take some creativity to send updates😉 good luck everybody!

I'm struggling with this too because I don't really have any significant updates, just more hours accumulated for the activities already listed on my application. I'll probably try to find a way to spin that into an "update" combined with a reiteration of my intent to matriculate

Anyone else think that 38 matches at Mayo AZ seems a bit low given a class size of 50? I'm sure some people do an extra year to pursue a dual degree but still...

They take a total of 100 students per year, sometimes the individual numbers for graduation within campus varies.

If you notice, there are a total of 95 matches (38 AZ, 56 MN, 1 FL) which is close enough to the 100

I looked online because I was curious and it says that the inaugural class at Mayo AZ was 50 people, so it is a little bit concerning that potentially 12 people did not match. I'm hoping there's some reasonable explanation behind it, though I know that this year's match process was particularly brutal.

Many people take research years or pursue other degrees before matching, so it could be that. Rochester campus would have people from previous classes matching this year, so their number of matches is roughly class size. It would be important to ask how many people chose to match but failed.
