Just got an interview invite!! I was completed October 11th, in-state. There are interview dates available until March 10th on Tuesdays and Thursdays
Congratz for the II. Good luck on your interview!
I completed mine October 2nd, in-state as well. Wonder why I haven't heard from them, and if there're anyone here who completed before October 11th and haven't heard back from them for the interview invitation as well.

Congratulations! I haven’t received any info or II and I was completed on 9/27. This is getting me thinking 🤔

Does anyone remember if there were interviews the week of thanksgiving? 11/24 I think?

II yesterday morning, complete 10/6, in-state, 3.4 undergrad, 3.8 grad, low MCAT, non-traditional with 9+ years of healthcare experience. I'm grateful! 🙏
Omg congrats!!! I have seen you on this thread patiently waiting 😍
Seconded, I kept seeing you around the thread and was really hoping you'd get an II before the cycle closed out, congrats!!

I completed end of September, still haven’t heard back.

Hey guys! I am a current student and I wanted to say that there are still interviews to be had and acceptances--though people interviewing later are likely interviewing for a waitlist spot. I am happy to answer any Qs you have, so DM or @ me.
Where is the best place to live? and how accessible and affordable are healthy food options?

Best place to live depends on what you're looking for. TC has a lot of options ranging from luxury apartments to regular college houses to medical fraternities where people play between 350-1300, averaging probably 600-700 ish. Healthy food options are pretty plenty as are unhealthy options. There is a fresh thyme nearby and a target / cub / farmer's markets in the summer too!

With Step one now being pass-fail, what opportunities are there to standout during residency applications?

Thank you.

Honestly, my guess is as good as anyone's. The med school has had conversations about it and no one really knows. There's talk on it being research, or LORs, or personal statement, or step 2, or something else, so I think the best answer is to do what you like and if it boosts your resume, even better.

What I'm doing to stand out is try to align my interests/narrative with the specialties I think I am most likely to go into. So I have research and have been going to interest group meetings / making connections. I also have done a lot to get early exposure to clinical practice as learning to talk to patients and hearing real plans is not only cool, but makes me more prepared for when I am actually being assessed. You can also add in premed things to your CV, so what you're doing now can be just as helpful as doing it in med school.

I just warn against going all in for a specialty in case you change your mind. Last thing I have to say, and I took it to heart in undergrad, is you can find opportunities that you not only like, but also satisfy 'check boxes,' so you don't absolutely HAVE to work some trash job you hate simply because it 'looks good.'

Thank you for a helpful and well thoughtful response, hoping I get some Viking love so we can run into you on campus.

Any advice/words of encouragement for my interview here next week? Feeling a bit deflated after the email saying we were interviewing for WL spots...

You can do it!!! I interviewed a couple weeks ago and had a really great experience even though I had the same feelings about interviewing to be on the waitlist. I just spoke with a current third year medical student and they said that a lot of their friends got accepted off of the waitlist after April 30th. Keep on preparing and practicing and I am sending you my best!!

Anyone know what the last interview day is? Just wondering if they will be wrapping up reviews of candidates within the next two weeks or so....
I also would like to know... I’m still waiting on an II (complete end of October). I have a feeling at this point interviews will be done by the time they reach my app, and I’ll just get an automatic pre-II R....

I'm hoping that's not the case for you! I feel like they aren't necessarily going in order at this point because there are some folks that were complete in September that have not heard back yet, while others in October received invites.

Last time I posted a meme in another school thread, I got an II. Let's see what this one brings...
