What difference is it from stealing? I’m serious, explain to me how me providing something that’s locked behind a paywall is not stealing. I want to help, and I’ve tried being helpful, but I will not steal.

If you guys are going to attack me for sticking to my morals, maybe you need to take a deep, hard, look at yourself and consider that everyone has different comfort levels and “stealing” isn’t within mine.

a bit ridiculous to gatekeep avg stats. as if this process isn't expensive enough. also, I know MSAR is only so much, but honestly as someone whose msar expired midway through the cycle I'm applying, I would not re-purchase lol.
I’m not gatekeeping. If someone else wants to share the stats they can. But they asked me and I said that it’s outside of my comfort level. Thanks to you all for attacking me though

Guys all im worried about is why the heck have I not heard anything from here
no waitlist or R post II
Why are they doing this to us????????
Do we still have a shot (those who have heard nothing post II)
lol might wanna check your spam folder. They don't just ghost you after an II. Something similar happened to me here

Just FYI, just found out that lectures might be in-person next year 🙁, but "not required". I heard one student in the first year was emailed consistently about not attending her lectures.

Has anyone been accepted off the waitlist for surgery? Or has committed to NYU Long Island/plans to for surgery? I haven’t heard anything for surgery so far. (I just want to move on if the seats are set >.<)

yeah i'm pretty peeved. I was trying to commute from the city. It's annoying because my friend who is an M1 (or about to be an M2) said the students told the staff that they loved online, because it helped them learn at their own pace and rewatch lectures right before exams. She said on a survey, 92% wanted it to remain online and the professors said that they would try to keep it that way. But then I spoke to the dean and she said as of right now it will be in person next year. 🙁

yeah, my friends who are M1s said that the staff pretty much just ignores student feedback if it goes against what they already want. Like many of the students had complaints about the PBL requirements, and the staff just basically told them to drop it because they are not going to change.

Honestly, after hearing everything my friends who go here have said, I am only still interested because of the free tuition.

I heard quite the opposite and that the admin is reasonably responsive! As for any school, they can't incorporate all the feedback they get. Yes, the medical school student perspective is important but maybe during residency those students will go "yeah the admin was right about xyz and now that I am training I can see why". Who knows. Try to keep an open mind!

Also, if you only want to attend the school because of free tuition I would encourage you to go to a different school. Loans will be manageable (most doctors are in a bunch of debt but doing fine!) and if you don't think the school is a good fit for your learning style or needs, then it's worth the investment to go to one you are excited about. Plus, having a negative mindset about the school going in will only drag you and your peers down.

Hey, has anyone gotten off the WL or heard of anyone who's gotten off since the premedmc got off for OB/GYN (Congrats btw!!!)? Seems a little tooooooo quiet

I hope you're right! They posted a tweet recently saying that most of their accepted students have already planned to enroll, but I am praying for a shot! 😀
Does PTE mean you aren’t on any other waiting lists?

Sorry, I meant committed to enroll. I think this means that they are 100% going - someone else can chime in if they know for sure though.

Yeah, I emailed asking what they thought the likelihood of future WL movement was and got this as a response:
Dear X,
Thank you for your update. At this time we do not believe there is much likelihood of further waitlist movement for the current cycle. We do appreciate your need to begin making decisions about housing, etc. for the other schools to which you have been accepted. We wish you all the best in your future endeavors.
Sincerely,
Office of Admissions Team
