Congrats to those who got the A! I was also placed on the hold list... so from previous cycles I have friends who were placed on the hold list and were accepted later in the cycle I'm not sure how often this happens but it does happen

Accepted this morning! IS, 514/3.5/3.2. I'm over the moon.

More stats (had to finish losing my mind first): ORM, verified 8/13, complete 8/31, II 9/21, interview 10/7 - this was 8 weeks to the day after my interview. Interviewers were very nice and asked about my background and interest in medicine. I'll try to answer any interview questions if I can!

Does Penn State accept pre-II updates/letters of interest, or any updates post-II either? I submitted like early September, but I haven't heard jack yet. Is it possible I received a silent R?

So I was placed on pre-interview hold. The email says Pennstate does not accept any updates or letters of intent. Problem is I just started a new research job and I would think that would be an important update considering its COVID related. Would it be risky to shoot them an email?

I also got a pre-interview hold. I probably wouldn't considering they specifically mentioned it in the email

Well this sucks. Wouldn't they want to see candidates improve their application. Say you got a publication or something. That should be an important update.

Yeah I completely agree with you, I actually just got a paper published and think it makes sense for them to have up-to-date information but I imagine it's to keep things fair maybe? Their wording in the email specifically stating "we will not accept application updates..." makes me think I probably shouldn't send an update. Sorry!

Haven't gotten a hold or R from here. Do they accept updates in any form? I really want to send an update but I looked everywhere and couldn't find anything that says no.

I've called the admissions office and they said no. It's unfortunate 🙁. I'm in the same boat as you.

Awwh man 🙁 Yeah I was planning on calling today to find out but guess that's not an option. I hope we both hear some good news despite this.

I have my interview on Monday. Am I suppose to get a zoom link for the whole day event and information sessions or do I just attend both my interview and that's it ?????
I received an email with a zoom link for the other events and info sessions prior to interview day (it was ~2 weeks before so it may have come right after I selected my interview time). There's also a zoom agreement to sign on the application portal and they may have an itinerary there for you. Best of luck!

Any ideas if we should/how to thank our individual interviewers post II? or should we just send a thank you to the student admissions email?

Any insight is appreciated! Thank you in advance!

My interviewers gave me their emails (and I, like the idiot I am, lost them post interview) but if you email letters to student admissions, they will forward them for you.
