I once sent an update to a school after I didn't realize they rejected me a month ago (didn't get email). Then they resent the rejection email twice just to make sure I got it
just curious which school didnt send the rejection email?? i didnt think i had to actually check each portal continually

Same here. Did not know I was rejected. Sent an update. Have yet to receive any emails. I did not check portal before sending the update. In hindsight, I should have.

for those who interviewed, did the interviews stick to the intended time ? I saw some people noted that their interviewers didn't talk a lot lol should i prepare a lot of questions just in case?

mine went a bit overboard. my interviews were around 45 min - 1 hour.

Does anybody know if they tell you where you are on the WL if you happen to get on it? Also can you get rejected from the traditional program and accepted into the pstp?

If any current students are here, did you feel like at least one of your interviews didn't go as well as you'd like / the interviewer wasn't conversational or very interested? I'm wondering if my chances have completey gone down the drain

Was absolutely shocked to hear from UPitt. Didn’t even consider ourselves even semi competitive.

Interview offers for my identical twin brother and I. OOS URM 3.89 and 3.91 cgpa and 509 and 505 MCAT
Just curious, approximately when are both of your interviews? I heard rumors that Pitt is stopping interviews this month, but it may not be true.

January 12th - when I signed up for interviews they had dates into late January and I want to say early February

Hi current MS1 here. I felt like my faculty interviewer was just bored to tears by me. But here I am

Anyone know if Pitt accepts multiple updates? I know schools like Geisinger have a limit of 2 updates, but not sure if Pitt has something like that too.

How do I withdraw a pstp app, asking for a friend
I promise it isn’t nearly as impressive as it sounds on paper lol. My international conferences were all located in the US on the years I went (bc money haha) and I’m not first or second author on my publications. Still a lot of hard work and I’m proud of it but not nearly as awesome as it seems on paper.

Rejected from Pittsburgh regular MD.

Starting to wonder if I should have applied to PTSP program hehe (8000 hours basic science research, three co-authorships in published papers - two IF > 35). Was rejected from Case Western regular MD pre-II but received a II at research-heavy five-year CCLCM.

Oh well, best of luck to those who have received IIs. 🙂

Gotcha - felt like when I submitted the application there would have been somewhere to designate the program I was interested in? Guess not! Water under the bridge. Time for me to move on from this thread, but best of luck to everyone else!

3.55/522. But extremely non-trad. This process can be random at times so I won't lose sleep over a pre-II rejection (this isn't my first anyways 🙂). I've been very fortunate to receive interviews at other great schools. At the end of the day, I'll become an MD!

From one non-trad to another, safe travels forward to you! You clearly have a lot going for you!

Application was submitted (plus both letters in) around Nov 1. I can't speak to the dates available, they just offered me one date (late Jan) and said if that didn't work to let them know and they would offer me alternatives.

I know Pitt welcomes Letters of Intent, but what's the consensus on them post-II, pre-decision? Former threads have run the gamut from "LOIs are pointless" to "might as well shoot your shot," but I'm wondering if it's only advisable if someone has significant updates. Anyone send one in?
