2020-2021 Tulane

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Tulane has historically rewarded applicants that submit right away. It's just the way it is, fair or not. I understand why some of you may feel entitled with the amount of money given for the application. However, Tulane is also an extremely low yield school, and so expectations need to be adjusted anyway.

I submitted my secondary 10/25 and just got under review like a week ago.

wow, thats actually really quick turn around. there are people who submitted in august and havent even gotten an under review yet. at least they read your stuff and kept you in the running!
Yeah I submitted my secondary October 25t or so and got under review a week ago!

I submitted 8/14 and not under review yet. I understand this is later than most, but I am sending update letters to other schools and wondering if I should send one to Tulane even if I'm not under review yet? It's a strong letter.. 2 publications and 40+ hours volunteering.

I would send it as well. However, I doubt the letter will bump you up in the queue for review, but will give Tulane the most up-to-date version of yourself (at least on paper). I'm not on Admissions though, so take with a grain of salt.

Completed 11/9 and put under review today. I don't have any ties to the area or the university so I was sort of surprised mine was put under review so quickly.

for people who interviewed, is the interview open file for the Med Student and Faculty portion of the ii?

Faculty definitely is, but mine went "so tell me about yourself while I read through your file real quick" so guess it depends on the person if they actually look at it beforehand, but I think the student is closed, they seemed to not know anything and just make conversation/ask a few Q. Both were very conversational, just thought it was funny how he started it
