Y’all I just received a SECONDARY while on another interview for a different school. I submitted back in July. This whole time, I thought I had been silently rejected... but there’s still hope?? Maybe??

Edit: just saw the above the discussion about how interviews are scheduled as far out as April.... now I’m conflicted.... esp as a CA resident

yeah, also a CA applicant. if i do get their secondary at some point I'm not even sure if I will pay and submit it. and I also have just 1 interview scheduled atm. what are you thinking?

II invite a couple days ago for the 4/5 slot as well. This is tricky. I already got an acceptance very early in Nov and 3 other interview invites from other schools. April interview is so late...but i'm very grateful to have one (it's my dream school).

Also, since our interview is in April, when will we hear back from davis then?
at that point i feel like there's no way you're not interviewing for the WL so im guessing you'd hear back anywhere from may-july? yeah its a later I date but since you can keep your current A and stay on the WL for Davis id say you have a shot at your dream school 🙂

Davis must be expecting a lot of movement given that they are interviewing so late in the game, most likely for WL spots.

Couple of questions, anyone know approximate class size compared to how many they have accepted already? Trying to get a sense if I am interviewing for a wait-list spot essentially. And second, anyone who has done the MMI already how was it? I am super stressed out over this format I don't know why, but it seems very intimidating. Thanks in advance.

The Facebook group only has like 30 people in it, so It’s safe to safe they have a lot of spots to fill left. I’m not completely sure how many students for this class though. The MMI was pretty typical, it wasn’t as stressful as past MMIs I’ve had before. Try and practice with numerous MMI questions online, that’s what helped me a bunch.

So if we haven't received secondary yet, at this point I'm guessing its safe to assume it's a reject right? (In state, SoCal resident)

Does anyone know if the entire interview is closed-file, or just the MMI portion? From the overview video they sent out, I couldn't tell if the 2 traditional interview stations and the interview with a dean are closed-file, or just the MMI scenarios.

Does anyone know if they actually contact the supervisor listed for the activities on the secondary?

If by norcal you mean the bay, then I dont think really helps your app. Being from Sacramento (or within 30 miles of it) or being from the Central Valley are probably the two geographic locations that truly help your app here. (Not an adcom, but this is my impression)
Just chiming in. I never understood why folks are so consumed about what region from CA they are from. My class comes from ALL OVER THE STATE. Perhaps some relevance if you are from Northern CA or Central Valley but if your application is in line with what they are looking for I'm pretty sure origin is irrelevant. In addition, a lot of students end up leaving those areas. For example, I'm from the Central Valley but spent 3 years prior to starting medical school in the Bay.

Save your money bro, all they doing is money grabbing. Interview booked all the way to April and they probably gonna stop sending IIs around Jan or Feb. Save that 100+ dollars and spend it elsewhere
I'm pretty sure they sent out interviews in March for those in April.

Most likely interviewing for a WL spot - a good chunk of students get sent into the WL and then they pool from that.

no, most of the time no, cause people have no time for that unless applicants lied about their activity hours (how admissions usually find out is if the number of hours is unusually high)
Thanks! On that note, I’m listing one of my activities as my sport that I did for 18 years. Do you think it matters if I list the date range as the full 18 years (1997-2015) or should I do post high-school hours only? My hours are like 56k give or take for the full date range hahahahaha

is it your hobby? if it is, then you can list the hours just how you see it fit. You don't lie about it, so there's nothing to be afraid of you. You are basically doing the best you can. But if you are still in doubt, it never hurts to call the admissions and ask them about it.

Has anyone been able to change their interview date? I'm hoping new II dates will open up

Thanks for the advice! I ended up putting the total hours. Less of a hobby and more of a "my life for 18 years" commitment thing. Traveled and competed on Team USA 🙂

I interviewed today, and they said all the stations are closed file!

They said they’d get back to us in 3-4 weeks! They didn’t say how many had been accepted though.
Thanks! I interview Feb 5th and I have an acceptance to a diff school so I'm hoping to hear back before I have to get a loan 0.o lol

I'm in-state with decent numbers (within 10th to 90th percentile on MSAR for Davis) and an overall strong app but STILL haven't received a secondary. I got the confirmation that they received my primary back in mid-July. Should I reach out to the admissions office or is this an L?

At this point it really can't HURT to ask, right? Might as well send a polite inquiry and see if it nudges them into sending you one (and if not then at least you won't wonder what may have happened if you did).

Anyone applied md/phd and have heard back? whether it be II or MD only II

Anyone else submit their secondary a few hours past the 30 day deadline? I was still able to submit and pay!

But...... from the looks of it, it was most likely money grab by UCD huh lol awesome :bang:

Has anyone interviewed around dec 4th heard back? I know they said by Jan 15th but I’m stressing since I haven’t heard from them yet 😩

I had my interview back in early Dec for MD/PhD and haven’t heard anything 🙁

how far back did they send you an II from your interview? And when were you complete?
Complete mid-July, II email was on 09/23 for October date but I had to reschedule for a December interview date.

+1 but also when/where was it communicated that it would be by Jan. 15th?
I received an email from them back in December saying due to The holidays things have been delayed and we should expect to hear back from them by Jan 15!

Did anyone who interviewed write a Thank You letter? Where can we send in our thank you letter?
