How do they determine which 1/2 get a seat if their waitlist isnt ranked? How many waitlist positions do they have? I dont have access to MSAR I wonder if that information is available on there.
From what I'm seeing here there has been no rejections post IIs.
My guess is they evaluate people to admit off the waitlist based on their accepted class demographics.

MSAR says that ~150 people are waitlisted and 50 acceptance offers are granted to people on the WL

That seems so unfair. I guess that's how they have even racial/gender profiles.
Sorry I didn't mean demographics referring to solely racial/gender/age... I was thinking more along the lines of the composition of the class, like what percent might be more interested in pursuing a research oriented career versus primary care leadership. Or applicants who might be more tech oriented than having a larger desire to serve the underserved... I definitely do not think they just admit more men or women based on how many men or women they've already admitted. It seems like they put a lot of thought into their admission practices and so the WL can't be as simple as that...

Ahh yes you're right it's 1/3 of the waitlist that gets offers, not 1/2 like I thought. Dang I have even slimmer chances than I thought lmao

Do you think they're waitlisting more applicants this cycle due to covid? Their class size is anywhere from 155-160. Maybe they don't have much space left. I highly doubt they are going to accept 50 applicants off of the waitlist especially given the volume of waitlisted people this cycle. I wish they were more transparent with their numbers.

Honestly I don’t really know. I have no relation to admissions at all. But I think with COVID affecting things most schools have adjusted their normal policies (more conservative with acceptances larger waitlist possibly)? That’s my 2 cents..

Accepted like three hours ago!!! Still in complete shock. Interviewed 12/17
Would you mind sharing your stats? Were you URM?

I interviewed mid December and I haven't heard back yet. I am honestly frustrated at this point. Like just go ahead and reject me, why drag this out lol
The wait has been so tough for my well being
+1, I have been lurking on this thread since I got the interview invite and I made an SDN account just today to tell other early/mid-Dec interviewees that they're not alone. Hopefully the long wait is a sign of good news to come! 🙌

Do yall think there will be another round of decisions this week (before march 15)?

It is kinda crazy how it is mid-March and a lot of us haven't heard back yet. I wonder if they have sent out a big batch yet since it seems like they did one big batch in March last year.

Would anyone be able to update us on FaceBook or GroupMe numbers?
FB is 170 currently

I could be wrong, but I speculated this by looking at their 2020 class size. It seems like they accept about 160? I think someone on here also mentioned that there were about 11 admins and a # of current students in the FB group. If anyone has more info, feel free to chime in

They accept more than that. Not everyone who gets accepted will attend. So they need to admit more people than their class size.

Last year, all SJV decisions came at once in mid March. So, hopeful for this week maybe Tuesday or Friday. I don't even know when to except decisions anymore. Its surely going to come when we LEAST expect it.

Has anyone who interviewed for reg MD between Jan 21 and Jan 28 heard back yet?

I think there were a couple people who interviewed that date and were accepted or WL
Yes, I saw one post about a WL - but haven't seen anymore from that date. I think someone else from 1/14. This wait is so hard to bare!

For those that sent in update letters, did the admin email back saying they have received it?

Does anyone know how many waitlist positions are available? It appears they are waitlisting a great number of people. What are the probabilities of getting admitted off of waitlist?
