What do the applications for financial aid look like? I saw on their website that there are "NO financial aid application deadlines for entering students" but then right below that, there are due dates in march for different forms. Are those for returning students? I still haven't heard back from my interview but I have other schools that require us to submit forms whether or not we have been accepted yet. Any insight?

this was the week(ish) that last year’s applicants got a massive post II R wave rip

How many acceptances do you guys think are left? I saw the Facebook page had around 300 members, but that number also includes M1s and other admins I’m guessing

I'm not so sure, it looks like someone got accepted last week so they might be sending out A's on Thursdays but few are reporting them here.
Oh for sure, I was just basing this off of current students posts on here, as well as someone who called admissions and said there's a ton of spots left. Just seems like they are very behind due to COVID in all regards

I was looking at the academic calendar for this upcoming year. Does the class of 2025 not get a summer break in between M1 and M2?

My guess is the break would be between June 24, 2022 and July 26, 2022, or maybe they will have scheduled activities during that month "break". I was looking at other 1 year and 1.5 preclin year programs and the summer break between MS1 and MS2 is really short, usually like 2 weeks.

I feel like M1s will only get that 1 week "summer break" (Jun 20-Jun 24). Because July 26th is the start date for class of 2024, not class of 2025. I am really confused.

Oh I totally misread the table then. Good call.

Hm this is interesting. Summer breaks are usually longer between M1 and M2 years for all/most other schools. If anyone else can confirm that summer break is only 1 week, it would be much appreciated.

There is no extended break in the new curriculum between M1 and M2 because there is only 1 preclinical year and you get an entire year after clinicals for discovery and exploration. I am assuming y'all will get 1 week. The extended, 2 month break is typically only for schools who still do 2 pre-clinical years (aka the Class of 2024).

Thank you for your response. So you can confirm that summer break after M1 is only June 20-June 24, 2022? M2 year starts June 27th, 2022?

I cannot confirm anything really, but this seems like how it would work!

For the new curriculum in general, you would finish M1 June 20th, have a week or two of prep for a competency exam, a week of vacation, and then a week or two of prep for clerkships, and then clerkships start in august ish.

For the class of 2025 specifically, they are pushing back clerkships a few months to minimize overlap with the class of 2024, so you will likely have class resume on June 27th, another few months of class, then the competency exam, prep for clerkships, and clerkships starting around october/november.

this will probably be made very clear at second look or near the time of matriculation! but i would not expect a substantial vacation summer after "m1"

Thanks for the detailed explanation!

I believe they are sending out acceptances every 2 weeks

less than 200 acceptances have been sent out

Do y’all think the bulk of decisions will be coming soon since quite a few of the top schools are releasing theirs this week?

Is it worth sending a letter of intent that if an acceptance were extended you would accept? Is that too upfront? Already sent one update letter.

I personally think you should save the LOI in the event you are waitlisted since you've already sent an update! Just my opinion though. We'll definitely get a decision in the next few weeks!

I was hoping so! But also lowkey hoping UCLA waits for next week. I don't think my heart will be able to process decisions from that many schools in one week lol

edit: ew re-reading that that sounded like a humble brag. Didn't mean it like that at all. I just don't have high hopes post II for these schools so this could be a rough week hehe....

What would you consider top schools? They are all releasing decisions this week?
Most of the non rolling schools give results now beginning of March. Yale was today and Harvard will (most likely) be Friday, so I was wondering. I’m not sure how long UCLA would hold decisions, you know?

Seems like scholarship awards will go out very soon based on the language from the recent Financial Aid Session email.

Does anyone else also think that scholarships and aid packages will come out before 03/05? That’s why they rescheduled in case we have questions on the day of
