2020-2021 University of Washington

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
+1 for Spokane cohort. Hard to decide if I want to stick with Spokane or switch to Seattle. Spokane has 60 seats and interviews about 100 students each cycle. Those odds look nice. On the other side, Seattle interviews about 450 students for 90 MD spots, but Seattle is home haha.
Hi! This information is awesome! Where did you find this? Appreciate!

It’s on past threads and I believe that the UW posts this somewhere on portal (don’t quote me on that)

Also for info base : Acceptance Statistics | UW Medicine

this is in (general) alignment with the 400 for Seattle and 100 for Spokane for interview when you look at Washington.

Me too! Submitted mission statement 9/10 and still waiting

+1, submitted 9/14 but wouldn't be surprised if it takes the full 5-8 weeks to review from that point

Not BuilderPro but yes the scheduling link comes as an email and then the interview tab appears in your portal as well! Got mine yesterday evening.
sorry I tagged the wrong person - thank you so much tho!

Is anyone having trouble signing up for the Virtual Experience? The signup area just reads "forms.gle refused to connect." for me.

It seems like it doesn't work on Mac devices! I was having the same issue and had to log in through a housemate's PC to get it to work.

Do we have to sign up for these events? Or, did you receive an email regarding Virtual Experiences? thank you!

Anyone know when to expect OOR IIs? Complete 10/5, so just curious when they may get back to me.

If we selected 'no preference' but get assigned to spokane, is it possible to switch to a seattle interview date?

Yes, you can switch to the Seattle Cohort if you selected no pref. I was sent an email that mentioned you needed to email them if you wanted to do so.

When you get the scheduling email, there is a portion that talks about logging onto the Interview Day Website. In there, you can sign up for the Virtual Experience. I'm scheduled for Seattle so I'm not sure if the other campuses do this as well.

Does the app status go to "under review" once they're looking at it? I submitted like 9/02 (IS) and mine still says ready

My portal showed me ready status until I received My interview invite. So I guess, please someone correct me if I’m wrong, that the portal always shows you ready status until the school has finished reviewing your application?

mine says under review. Curious though, @AthenaSteph or @lovemedluv, did either of you have to submit verification?

in the Application Submitted section, it says Application submitted on 9/1/2020, but I wasnt complete until the end of September because of the verification phase.

Hmmm I only remember submitting a residency history form. Is that what you are referring to?

Received an interview invite and my portal still says ready so your logic could check out (also IS if that means anything).

For any lurking UWSOM students here, could you tell us more about the pros/cons of the program, the impressions of the program in terms of preparing you for the future, how you feel about the administrations and your respective cohort, and why you chose to go to UWSOM. Bonus points if you're from Spokane since there seems to be little information that I can find about it.

Nope! Some folks have to submit a detailed and comprehensive history of residence, financial information, and state identifiers (bank information, drivers license, car tabs, pay stubs from a WA employer, etc.)

Mine was a 70 page document....

wow, that is a lot of documentation. The school did not ask me for these documents.

I only submitted residency verification, I didn't have to submit any proof like others were saying. Complete email came 9/1

Does anyone know how long it usually takes to get an acceptance or rejection after interview date for Seattle campus?

Does anyone know how long it usually takes to get an acceptance or rejection after interview date for Seattle campus?

Per the email they sent me this is what they said:

"The majority of applicants who interview in Seattle do not receive a final decision until February or March"

Has anyone in the Spokane cohort been able to schedule their interview yet?

Can anyone speak on how rotations works for this school. Do you essentially just have to move around every 6 weeks or so for years 3 and 4?

Hey everyone! I was wondering if anyone knew what MCAT they screen at? I just applied to the MSTP but am curious as to what MCAT cutoff they may have. A few years ago I applied for the regular MD program and was told I did not meet the requirements for a secondary.

Best of luck to everyone!

Hit with the Pre-II R. IS and UWMC is where I learned I wanted to be a doctor and shadowed/researched at for over 600 hours during two of my summers... Feels bad man. Good luck to everyone else applying!!!
ORM / LM 72

Oh no do you mind me asking your MCAT score? Please feel free to dm me. I just want to know where I may possibly stand. I'm wishing you the best on all your other applications!!!

Change every year per AAMC percentile rankings but the below is per Stella Yee as of November 2019 (All Access Podcast)
For WWAMI applicants: 3.0 GPA/495 MCAT
For non-WWAMI applicants: 3.25 GPA/500 MCAT
