For the people who’ve interviewed in the past how long did it take you to find out if you’d been WL/accepted post-interview?

Accepted 4 days after interview. Was really surprised because they said it would take a month to get back to me. Thought they hated me so much they sent me an R that quickly lol

what was your LM score and when did you interview if you don’t mind me asking? I got this vibe when I interviewed this week too and I was just overthinking

Just received an email saying that they don’t have available med students for my interview 😳..... if I am track 2, does this mean I will just start 45 minutes late (track 2 does student interview first)

yeah but you'll still be asked to attend the orientation/welcome session prior to ur interview

Can anyone provide more information about the interview? Mainly:

- How long is each interview? Each MMI room?
- Are the faculty and student interviews open- or closed-file?

Both my faculty and student interviews were open-file, I don't remember exactly but both were between 30~40 minutes. Each MMI was about 5 minutes with 1 minute before the call starts for you to read the question. You will be told how this works in the meeting before your interviews.
Good luck!

Your faculty can range anywhere from 15 min to 30+ min depending on the person interviewing. Typically it’s 35 min and student interviews are also 35 min. MMIs are 5 min per station but the rater can ask you other questions after you’re done answering the prompt (so could be a few extra minutes). Everything’s open file for both faulty and student (student doesn’t get access to your grades/mcat)

Thanks for the help, I appreciate it! And congrats on a great cycle -- I'd bet money that you probably tutored me at some point, based on your WAMC, lol. 🙂

do those that interview in the new year have an advantage for WL spots?

According to previous threads, the school commented that post-new year interviewees are more likely to receive WL but they also receive priority for A from WL. So if the school is keeping the same system, then I’d say so

yeah i know they've had more interviews recently so when they update the tracker is when I anticipate more decisions going out

Hey guys, does anyone who interviewed have any tips or info on what it was like? This is my top school and I really don't wanna mess it up.. of course I'm not asking for specifics, just a jist of how you felt overall.

It’s very relaxed! Just be yourself - it’s a conversation . I was so nervous going in but thoroughly enjoyed the experience because of how great a job they do to make you feel welcome and calm 🙂

someone said that post-new year interviewees get priority in getting an A from the WL. Why? does that mean those WLd before the new year should pretty much call it quits
I definitely wouldn’t say call it quits, the SDN page last year showed tons of movement for those before the new year too.

This is absolutely not true. It doesn’t make much sense why one would get priority over the other.

I didn’t mean to say it to imply that earlier waitlisted applicants have less chance! According to last year’s wayne state’s thread, the school waitlisted majority of post new year interviewees because the admissions ran out of time to review. So I believe the school mentioned priority to clarify that waitlisted might have meant that admissions needed more time to make decisions. Again, idk whether the school is following the same rules this year. Don’t get discouraged though!!

Complete 9/10. Sent an update last week too, don't know whether to lose hope or not 🙁
My experience has been that it hurts less to gently let go of hope earlier on, than to try to hold on too tightly and later have it forcibly ripped from your grasping fingers.

This means that the Percentage accepted from WL is probably inflated
