I think there was a wave of post interview(WL) R couple of weeks ago. So 1410 -675 =735 max remaining.

can i ask when you interviewed/ when you heard back?

I interviewed on 11/16 and 11/19 and heard back on 12/8. I finally got my official letter of offer on 3/26. Based on an email I received today, it looks like 3 MD/PhD applicants (including myself) have accepted positions in the class so far.

Are they almost out of acceptances considering the tracker is at 675 whereas last year they only accepted about 570 by the very end?

Was there a large wave of post-ii rejections earlier this year or just really small? It's hard to imagine that they rejected very many people post-ii unless something was seriously wrong.

1) They accepted more than 570 last year. Idk why 570 number stayed but I’m pretty sure wayne updated one last time after waitlist movement happened. My assumption is that Wayne knows what they are doing and they are in a situation where they have to over accept by a lot even before CTE date because....a lot of early acceptances have withdrawn. OR wayne is trying to speed up their process since everything has been delayed due to covid. I guess we will find out more next month?

2) nobody knows how big post-II R movement was but i think Wayne may continue to send out Rs since it seems like they really started reviewing their WL pool

Last year the sent 700+ admission offers, not sure why their website says 572. There are screenshots of the tracker in last year's thread.

The data they provided to USNWR indicates that they gave out 722 As last cycle. 572 might be their non-post PTE WL As before 5/1.

Oh okay. So the acceptance rate post-ii is higher than stated on their admissions tracker I guess. Maybe there is still hope considering they gave out about 300 more interviews this cycle and it's only early April.

Since Wayne gave newly accepted applicants 5 days to accept the offer (and it was a huge wave it seems), I think we will find out more in 1-2 weeks. If more than expected people drop, Wayne will have to accept more. If number stabilizes, they may wait until when waitlist starts to move a lot officially

That’s right, just accept the offer and no deposit. You can send them your transcripts as well.

I looked into it and you technically can't do as an independent. You have to prove you've been residing in Michigan 12 months prior to start of your educational semester for reasons other than attending med school.

Some packages are already up on Academia. If you don't qualify for institutional aid, the package will consist of: $2k BoG Grant and $40,500 in Unsub Federal loan (~$2k of the amount posted is loan origination fees).

is this the only aid that we are capable of getting? For example, are we allowed to ask for more loans? The thought of private loans scares me. I am OOS so that 90,000$ cost of attendance is looking steep

I believe the next step is applying for a direct grad plus loan, which they say can cover total COA minus other aid. Applications don’t open until May though. They have some info on their financial aid page that kinda outlines what that application is like/qualifications etc.

Grad PLUS loans guarantee your COA difference if your credit isn't completely trashed.

I’m a bit worried about it bc of some missed loan payments (never received the notices). My credit isn’t bad but I do have that adverse credit history of a 90+ day missed payment ugh
