apps have to be scored before the II, they determine II based on scores right?

This is true. I think, however, based on past cycles, that the portal isn't always updated to reflect this before some people receive IIs.

This causes all sorts of speculation on SDN. The bottom line is that their portal sucks, their system sucks (e.g., some folks find out they received an II by randomly happening to see it on the portal, days or weeks before receiving an actual notification), and trying to determine what is happening with your application by status changes on their portal is very hit or miss.

well stuff I saved yesterday isn't there and whenever I click save today everything clears🙂

I submitted my secondary about a week ago and my application portal is complete, but I just got a duplicate today of the email inviting me to complete the secondary, as well as the one saying my AMCAS primary has been received by the school. I assume this was a glitch, but did this happen to anybody else? Was initially worried it meant my secondary had not been received.
 
How can you tell if you've been scored or not yet? Sorry hahaha I'm still confused. I just don't see anything on my portal.

your portal will say "your application has been reviewed by the admissions committee at the university of miami miller school of medicine. applicants will be invited to interview based upon their evaluation score from the admissions committee review. you will be contacted by email if you are selected for an interview. interview invitations are extended between august and march"

does anyone know whether the interview is in-person of through zoom...was a little unclear
 
Can anyone shed some information on the experiential and behavioral program interviews. Can't find much info on them.

so based on two cycles ago, one is a traditional open file interview where they focus on getting to know you and the other is more ethical scenario based but i could be completely wrong
 
Does anyone know if Miami accepts letters of interest/update letters? Can't find that anywhere. Also, does Miami send Rs? Or do they keep you scored until the day you realize it is springtime and too late?

can confirm! ethical scenarios are pretty casper like situations, open file interview is pretty chill-- talked a lot about the fun prompts on the secondary

I am having this same issue. The PDF says we should be able to save as we go. Has anyone else had this issue/fixed it?
 
Hi all. Late to the game on the Miami secondary. The instructions say "Use the link in the secondary application to upload a photograph of yourself (showing from the waist or shoulders up). The image must be a JPG, JPEG, PNG OR GIF file". I cannot find anywhere in the application to upload the photo. Am I missing something?

It’s after you submit the secondary that you can upload the picture.

I think they accept update letters and letters of intent not so sure about letters of interest. But from my previous experience update letters don't hold much weight as including information on primary/secondary app.
 
I'm just now realizing that I never got a confirmation email that my application was complete, even though its says everything is complete on the app portal and that I'm under review since last month. Should I be concerned or is this normal? I haven't seen anyone talking about a confirmation email on this thread so I'm assuming this school doesn't send them?

I also never received one, I don't think Miami sends confirmation emails at all
 
How do you submit an update letter to miami? I don't see anything on the portal or on their site saying whether they accept them or not, or how to submit them.
 
complete 7/7 and still no rating 🤔

my new theory is this means automatic A, no II needed.... they're just waiting until 10/15 to tell usssssss 🙂

Wouldn’t this be awesome. I submitted 7/10 and am not scored as well. Does this mean anything or is it just all about the waiting game still?
 
i would like to mention for people who are worried about being unscored, miami can be a lil slow on updating things on the portal interface so you might actually be scored they just might not have updated it online

How can I know if my application has been scored or not? do they change the status?

Yes, my status says something along the lines of: your application is currently under review by the admissions committee at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
 
When you're scored it says: "Your Application has been reviewed by the Admissions Committee at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. For the first few days my status said something slightly different and had Sep-April as the dates. Not sure why or when but it eventually changed to this.
 
Last year someone had their app as under review for the entirety of the cycle and then received a rejection. They didn't even look at the person's application. Hoping that isn't happening to me or anyone else. Been complete since early to mid july I forget when but still not scored
