Gosh darn you miami, why can't you have a first wave of A's on the 15th? They told us maybeee the 20th, but probably nov 4th to hear anything back. By far my #1 school.
they have the list of days the release interview decisions on the hub app, the first adcom meeting was on october 6th and that's when they introduce new members of adcom committee, they told us they don't make decisions that day to comply with the october 15th rule but they will during the following meeting on october 20th, which is when they said acceptance calls will be made after 5 pm

I got the call for the A yesterday at 4PM😄
congrats, may i ask when you were interviewed? i interviewed during the first interview day and they told not to hear back until oct 20 but i assume that policy has changed of they have already released your decision

Tbh I'm not buying it. Fresh account reporting the only A on this thread and that contradicts the timeline given by the deans. I interviewed first week and they also said Oct 20 at the earliest.

PM me if you want. I was just as confused though

Can someone who already interviewed confirm- is the first faculty interview in the day the open-file one and the second faculty interview the ethics-based one? Or will we not know until we start the interview? TIA

You won't know until they start asking the questions.

Hey everyone, how long does it take to get scored? I submitted this month due to some personal issues and I'm curious if there's still a long wait to be scored. Do they notify you or do I just keep checking everyday? Best of luck to everyone!!

They probably don’t actually score everybody. I’m guessing some apps don’t meet some initial cut and aren’t scored. I’ve been complete since July and not scored. Others submitted much later and have been

Ditto. Wouldn't hold your breath. Check portal weekly.

I see, so you’re saying they may not even get the chance to see my app because it’s in so late? That would suck bc I’m IS and this is one of my top schools. If the cut off is 504 I definitely meet it though

No I’m saying that all apps probably don’t get to the committee after a more in depth scoring by a subcommittee or something. It’s definitely not based on grades or scores alone. In past cycles some people never got scored despite submitting early

Ah I see what you mean now, I misunderstood and went back to reread previous years. Looks like they review your app and if they like you then you're scored and considered for an II so they definitely don't score everyone. But they do come back and score people later in the cycle it seems. Thank you for your help!

Are you saying this based off previous threads? If so damn that’s really discouraging I was really hoping for an II here. Submitted July.
It's definitely not over yet!! I just went through previous cycles and checked it out. Seems like UM goes back later in the cycle and scores more people then offers II. Same goes for people scored early on but not immediately invited.

Has anyone gotten their interview detail email yet? Mine is a week from today and I still haven't received information about my booked interview

3 cycles ago I was complete around this same time (if not a bit later) and got scored mid feb, interviewed early march and got in with a scholarship so don't worry at all yet. its just gonna take some time for them to get to your application

Wow that gives me a lot of hope! Did you ever reach out to the school and explain why you submitted it later? All of my secondaries went in late and I wanted to be honest and email schools why it was late, especially to my top IS ones. Idk if this is acceptable though

yeah so I received their secondary in July and didn't submit until mid October. I just emailed them the update and explained. just make sure its like actually a really good reason for having the delay. If its not a good reason just don't say anything and don't draw attention to it

edit: this was the case for all of my applications and I was able to get multiple interviews and acceptances. obviously not ideal to be in this situation but it can work out

I messaged you because I have some questions about this

Sorry guys, I'm new to this school, what does "scoring" mean? They give your application a score?

Yes, applications are assigned a numerical score that they use to determine if they want to interview you. It's like a rubric with the different criteria they care about and they rate how well you meet that criteria with a number.

Cool! Do we see that score? And if so, where can we view that? Thank you for your response!

no that remains confidential to adcom
I apologize if I misunderstood. But I saw number of posts in this thread where members mentioned that they are scored. How did they know about it? I have submitted my application on 8/10 and was thinking that I was not scored as I did not see any updates on the status page.

another poster on this thread (page 9 ) copied what their portal said:

"Mine (MD) says: "Your Application has been reviewed by the Admissions Committee at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Applicants will be invited to interview based upon their evaluation score from the Admissions Committee review. You will be contacted by email if you are selected for an interview. Interview invitations are extended between August and March."

It said the "under review" message before this"

Hope this helps.

Thank you.

My status is says :
Your Application is currently under review by the Admissions Committee at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

No update since last 2 months ..I will wait for the update 🙁

does anyone know how many interviews they are sending out per week?

Not all applications get chosen to be scored, if an application is chosen and scored then I believe it will be updated that it was scored on the portal website, and then again just because your application is scored does not guarantee an interview

the scoring of each chosen app is done by two members of the adcom, if those two people give you a high enough score they will extend an interview invitation

I know we’re not supposed to hear anything til 10/20 at the earliest but when I checked my portal it said:

“We hope you enjoy your visit to our campus. Your final Admissions Committee decision will be available shortly. Contact the admissions office at 305-243-3234 or [email protected] if you do not receive a telephone call, an e-mail or a letter within seven days.”

which I take to mean a decision was made?? fingers crossed for good news to all of us waiting 🤞🏼

I have the same. But given their system of accepting the top 20 off their list every 2 weeks, everyone will either be accepted or put on the list tomorrow. So i am guessing there wud be an update either way. Trying not to jump to conclusions myself.

Thanks for the info. May be my app is not picked for interview. My stats are reasonable for the school. 3.9/515/3rd quartile Casper/OS.
