Lol I'm being super neurotic because UM is a top choice for me so I'm analyzing statuses 🤣

For the people still waiting for an II or to be scored, I was reading through older threads and gathered some info. These are the pre-II statuses. 1 is what you get when you complete it and they prob do some preliminary review. Then I believe 2 is the part where members of the adcom reviews it, the wording also turns green instead of black/grey. 3 is when you are scored, seems like 3 also varies in wording for some applicants. The timeline between when you switch to each one is unknown, for me I went from 1 to 2 in exactly a week. I'll update when/if I get to 3 lol

1) 'Your Application is currently under review by the Admissions Committee at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.'

2) 'Your Application to the UM Miller School of Medicine is complete and is currently being reviewed by the Admissions Committee.'

3) 'Your Application has been reviewed by the Admissions Committee at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Applicants will be invited to interview based upon their point total from the Committee review. Applications that have been reviewed and scored by the Committee will be considered for interviews during the entire interview cycle (September - April).'

A! As of Wednesday night and official yesterday morning. Interviewed 10/8. This is easily my dream school. I would love to go here. However, I've heard some things about holding out on schools because if you commit early you may not be considered for a scholarship since they know you want to go there. Does anyone have any thoughts? I plan on looking more into it over the weekend.

OOS II! URM high MCAT low/mid GPA. Very arts/humanities focused app which I've heard miami likes. Would also like to know how soon after ranking interview dates we hear back on an official date. I was complete 8/11 and I had been scored/reviewed by the committee for a while now, not sure exactly when bc I don't check my portals super frequently, but its been at least a month.

i dunno anything about all the newfangled CTE/PTE business since we didn't have all that when I applied, but back in my day Miami went ahead and sent people scholarships with no holding out required. I think its worthwhile to wait out the cycle and see what other offers come in, but i wouldn't worry specifically about playing hard to get

Mine changed to that monday when they sent the oct 4th interviewers the big tease photo of us all throwing up the U. Says if nobody from the adcom notifies us of decision within the week to call or email them about it. Maybe yours also changed around then.

From what I've seen on here, they accept updates and you just email it to them.

Has anyone gotten scored recently or any IIs? I've been stuck on "Your Application to the UM Miller School of Medicine is complete and is currently being reviewed by the Admissions Committee" for about 10 days now after my status changed to that

I don't know when my application was scored exactly, but it's been like 2 months and the status on my portal hasn't changed: "Your Application has been reviewed by the Admissions Committee at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Interview invitations are extended between August and March." Is anyone else on the same boat? I'm worried that maybe I'm missing something (proof of Florida residency?) but I don't know if I should bother them by sending an email asking if everything is okay. What do you guys think?

As long as you're fully scored then you're just waiting for an II. When they offer IIs they pick the highest scorers off their list so depending on how strong your app was it might just take some time before you get an II. I just want to be scored so I know I'm being considered for an II at least lol but not everyone who gets scored gets an II either so there's always that possibility

The portal doesn't always update in a timely manner (or at all); I wouldn't take it as a definite reflection of what's going on with your application. I got the call late in the afternoon (almost 6 pm) so there is still plenty of time left today to hear back.

Thank you! I interviewed 10/8. Portal just updated on Monday same as everyone else to call or email if I hadn't heard back within 7 days. It still hasn't updated even after the call
