I submitted on 7/20, didn't get any email beyond the "secondary submitted" one.Has anyone who submitted gotten an "application complete" email? I got one that says "secondary submitted" and I have all green checks in the portal but wasn't sure if they also send an email...
yup, just had to cut it a few more wordsIs anyone else having trouble with the essay word count? I think it's counting apostrophes as words or something and won't let me paste in my whole essay.
I strongly recommend you choose the 1 strong science letter and 1 strong non-science letter. I think science is always recommended but a strong LOR is always better considering the competition!can someone give me advice on their letters of rec requirement? They say from 2 instructors, is it strongly recommended for 2 science? I have 1 very strong science, and 1 not-so-strong because the prof is no longer affiliated with the university (so it's not on letterhead?). I can replace the not-so-strong one with a non-science upper division strong LOR. Just not sure if the 2 science is strongly recommended.
thank you so much!I strongly recommend you choose the 1 strong science letter and 1 strong non-science letter. I think science is always recommended but a strong LOR is always better considering the competition!
This ADCOM member reached out to me and offered to help me get the last secondary. He seemed nice. With UCLA, UCSD, UCI and UCD MD/PhD secondaries all received, UCSF is all that remains for me to collect the 5 UC Stones and I can eliminate half the applicant pool with the snap of my finger.
"You could not live with your own lack of secondary, and where did that bring you? Back to SDN"With UCLA, UCSD, UCI and UCD MD/PhD secondaries all received, UCSF is all that remains for me to collect the 5 UC Stones and I can eliminate half the applicant pool with the snap of my finger.
I wouldn't answer it, you won't be able to tell them what you've done since completing your degree if you haven't actually completed it yet"If you are 2021 or earlier college graduate, please use the space below to tell us what you have done since completing your undergraduate degree."
If I am graduating in December 2021, should I not answer this question, even though I will technically be a graduate in 2021?
I disagree with the other response! Since you're technically still a 2021 graduate, I would probably talk about what you'll be doing for the second half of the year... ONLY IF you've got anything planned. If not, then yeah just leave it blank."If you are 2021 or earlier college graduate, please use the space below to tell us what you have done since completing your undergraduate degree."

+1; Verified 07/02OOS secondary received just now
Verified 6/11
I think a lot of people are, I still wouldn't worry. They're taking their time, who knows how they're prioritizing apps. I was verified 6/14 and still waiting.Anyone verified on 6/25 and still waiting? OOS
Yep - OOS verified on 6/8 and still waiting. mehAnyone verified on 6/25 and still waiting? OOS
Same — I think they might be sending them out slowly. My stats are on the lower end 514/3.8 but I didn’t think I’d get screened out given that I have a bunch of unique experiences, publication, strong writing, and a potential X factor as a collegiate athlete. I’ve also received IIs at Georgetown and GW so I feel like the primary is decent/doesn’t have red flags??Transmitted on the first day, still without a secondary. Have I been screened?
I was thinking this too, but I think they are just being slow. If we don't get a secondary today, we'll probably have to wait until August.Transmitted on the first day, still without a secondary. Have I been screened?
That dip from % that get secondary to % that get interviewed 😱😱I was thinking this too, but I think they are just being slow. If we don't get a secondary today, we'll probably have to wait until August.
Additionally, as an MD/PhD applicant, I found their secondary numbers and ~75% of applicants get or complete a secondary... That's a pretty high percentage for a lengthy pre-secondary screen.

This is definitely encouraging. Of the MSTP applicants I have talked to, only 1 out of 8 has gotten a secondary. They are likely being slow at first, ramp up later in the summer.I was thinking this too, but I think they are just being slow. At the T20 level, MSTP is a numbers game. That dip from % that get secondary to % that get interviewed 😱😱
Alright, I snapped my fingers. Are half of you gone yet? With UCLA, UCSD, UCI and UCD MD/PhD secondaries all received, UCSF is all that remains for me to collect the 5 UC Stones and I can eliminate half the applicant pool with the snap of my finger.

They read this thread and realized "Damn it, we forgot to click the 'MD'PhD' button on our filters!"lol the day that I complain that I'll be getting my secondary in August is the day that I get the secondary. MSTP OOS. I survived the Thanos snap @2021-2022-NonTrad
Big brother UCSF is always watching... there are spies in here![]()
Yes, I would say. I have been using low SES and/or first gen at all the UCs."Do you identify as being part of a marginalized group socioeconomically or in terms of access to quality education or healthcare? Please describe how this inequity has impacted you and your community."
Does coming from a poor immigrant background qualify for this prompt?
After receiving the secondary just yesterday, I gotta say I now believe the current student from earlier that they are just slow. Stay calm man.IS, good stats, verified 6/25, even used to work at UCSF and still no secondary... 🙁 received secondaries from all other UC schools a while ago. also went to a UC school idk if that helps at all
were you by any chance a scribe at UCSF? lolIS, good stats, verified 6/25, even used to work at UCSF and still no secondary... 🙁 received secondaries from all other UC schools a while ago. also went to a UC school idk if that helps at all
No I worked in a research lab there for over a year, but I am working as a scribe now somewhere else actuallywere you by any chance a scribe at UCSF? lol
