I feel ya, I heard back from my interviewer after three days... and we couldn't meet until a few days later bc of scheduling conflicts. 'Twas annoying

Don’t worry, I would just wait Atleast a week until the student reaches out. I interviewed on a Monday and my student interviewer reached out to me like 5 days later.

It’s a long process but just wait and give it a couple more days. My student reached out the 4th day and the interview was very casual and the student genuinely seemed to want to get to know me beyond my academic capabilities. Hang in there and try to relax if you can! Good luck🙂

Does this school secretly rank their students? I know that it's technically pass/fail for the first 2 years, but it aslo states in the MSAR that students are ranked for residency applications. Does this mean that our class rank will be sent to schools when we apply to residencies?

I was placed on the waitlist when everyone else was, I think it was 4/3. Then I got an email today that told me to log into my portal for the final decision.

If we write an LOIntent for a school, but end up not being able to attend due to financial reasons (less financial aid was given than expected), would we be blacklisted from that school for residency?

I have never heard that that could happen it sounds really extreme. But it might be better to ask adcoms/faculty just to be sure.
 
Do we get any confirmation that we accepted the AL position or as long as we checked the box within the five days we are on it ?
 
Interviewing today-at what time should I expect the writing assignment? Is it emailed to me?

So I interviewed on Wednesday and haven’t heard from the student interviewer yet. I’ve been checking my email and spam like every five minutes.

I know it’s only been a couple of days but like the person earlier I want to get my app reviewed ASAP since I really want to go here.

Also I’m supposed to be leaving the country the end of next week and I want to do it before that. Should I wait until Monday and then send them an email?

I would wait because it's still within the frame of how long they said it will take. I know it's grueling to wait though :/

It wouldn't make a difference. Someone from last year's thread (Blurm) created an Excel sheet with ppls interview/waitlist/acceptance dates. Everyone who interviewed from early to late April was placed on the waitlist on June 3rd, and some were accepted in July.

You have no idea how many hours of sleep I lost from this it's crazy. The night before when I posted that, I was at my apex of stress. The acceptance couldn't have come in at a better time.
 
Given AL placement was given a lot earlier this year should we expect the movement to start May 1st or even earlier?

With one exception - one person, Buschlite30, interviewed 4/6 and was placed on the waitlist on May 6 in 2020-2021.
 
Does anyone know how large Downstate's AL is? And how many people are taken off it?
 
Interviewed a couple of weeks ago and just got an email about a virtual chat. My heart dropped when I saw an email from downstate but I should've known 2 weeks was too early lol. is the virtual chat a fake voluntary and really lowkey mandatory? was it helpful?

That... doesn't make sense? That would mean 100-125 ppl are accepted off the Waitlist, but MSAR states that Downstate aims for 190 entrants. If thats true, that would mean almost 65% of matriculents are coming off of the WL.

Maybe they expect only 75 or so of that 100-125 to attend
