at the risk of doxxing myself a little bit here, I wanna pass on some information I've learned at a recent interview day-- early interviewers should expect to hear decisions back like... REALLY soon-- I know other people here have said late Feb, but I was told verbatim early February. Later interviewers should expect to hear early March. The process really is non-rolling according to admissions. Where the line between "early" and "late" falls outside of my personal interview day, I can't say, but I wanted to put it out there since there has been some confusion on here

I wonder what constitutes as “early” or “late” 🤔. If I have to wait till March I will quite literally combust.

As a fellow early December interviewee I would say it’s safe to say we won’t be hearing back until March 🙁. Just did some quick detective work and the first II this cycle was sent on 9/16.

I interviewed in September and haven’t heard back yet so fingers crossed it’s next week 😭😂

I think everyone who interviewed in 2022 will know next week...from the thread it seems like the PRIME program did not interview their first batch until about mid-December, so it seems any interview until then would be considered "early" regardless of the program you applied for. Also, theoretically speaking, even with non-rolling admissions interviewing early is generally a good sign especially with the order in which secondaries seem to be reviewed here. Regardless, wishing the best for everyone!!

I couldn’t find info on this so I just emailed Hallen Chung an update and she responded saying it got added to my file. Not sure about letters of interest though

Me too. I can't imagine it would hurt to send, but why do I have a feeling our decisions have already been made...

omg lol same here. i interviewed back in october and would have sent a letter of intent or even an update letter if i could... i'm sitting here twiddling my thumbs lawl

UCSF, according to hearsay, will release their first wave in Early February. Naturally, due to hope and impatience, we’ve defined that as this week—the first week of February, even if the second week is technically “early February”. Tomorrow is the first day of February. Friday is the last day of the first week of February. For the next three days, the collective neurotic hive mind will buzz with excitement and anticipation. Bzz bzz.

Yeah, it seems like they have sent out so many R for complete dates far beyond Sept/Oct, and with passing time it's difficult to not read into that. It has also passed the time frame they said they would notify us in... :') best of luck to you !

I also got confused bc during the breakout group, one of the students seemed to accidentally say "congrats for getting accepted", but all the other communication made it seem like we'd just gotten interviews. The ~90 students all seemed to be those who broadly fall under that affinity group. Who knows! It also seemed like the folks hosting it were saying they wished something like this had happened last year, so maybe this is new.

It definitely does not indicate acceptance status. It is for a particular affinity group which one may or may not identify with.

i think it was just an informational meeting where students can ask more questions about the school

yeah that makes sense too. It would just seem odd to have people attend the meeting who were already rejected, at least if you have an interview scheduled you still have a chance at getting in. I would imagine the majority who interviewed already have a decision made since decisions come out this week, but I suppose it is all hypothetical.
