I thought it was 50% too ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I've seen the 20% number too; like 2500 secondaries for around 10,000 primaries. Seems about right seeing how long it takes them to decide who all gets one.Thought it was more like 50%? Can’t be just 20.
Great use of a semicolon 👍I've seen the 20% number too; like 2500 secondaries for around 10,000 primaries. Seems about right seeing how long it takes them to decide who all gets one.
Is this still considered early in the UCSF timeline? I feel like the IIs have been slow even compared to last year but it could just be the copium I’m smoking
I looked through last year's thread (remember tho sdn isn't that representative) from October 18th to end of November and from what I saw:
A bunch of pre-II and pre Secondary R's (I don't mean to scare anyone but it was a lot)
1 II on 10/29 complete in early September
2 secondaries on 10/30
1 secondary 11/6
1 secondary 11/9
2 secondaries 11/13
1 secondary 11/17
1 II 11/19 complete 9/2
1 II 11/21 complete 9/17
1 II 11/22 complete 9/3
3 II 11/24 complete 10/2 + 10/24 + 10/31
1 secondary 11/25
2 secondaries 11/29
So for those of us who were complete in July/August I think we should get our R's or II's soon. Good luck to everyone I hope we all get II's that then translate to A's.
in 2001 if we put the collective neurotic brainpower of SDN together we woulda found Bin Laden in the first three weeksDamn high quality research. Thanks and best of luck to you 🙂

Yes! The admissions director also mentioned to me that decisions were going to come out in February. Good luck, everyone!FWIW: They are moving away from rolling admissions and releasing decisions in Late Feb/ Early March iirc; so the date of your interview doesn't matter.
It's an amazing program and I wish everyone here the very best.
wooooooo!! When were u complete?II OOS an hour ago! LM 77
I was completed 07/13 and just got a secondary 5 days ago, hang in there!is it pretty much an R if we haven't received a secondary yet after being verified mid July? I emailed them a week ago and they said they are experiencing delays in their review process

You have to be from California, not perfect.Off-topic but like UCSF is one of my dream schools lol. Sadly, it seems like you have to be perfect to get in - is this true?
How does being from California help? Am I reading into this too literally? I thought CA was one of the most competitive states even if in-state. I'm probably out of the loop lolYou have to be from California, not perfect.
Yeah ok that makes sense. I'm a CA resident and UCSF is one of my dream schools but alas :')UCSF is a state school and seems to be less OOS friendly than some of the other UCs.
i.e. 2/3 of IIs are given to in-state folks and about 80% of the folks who matriculated were from CA (source: MSAR)
But it is still very competitive, even if you're IS.
UCSF is holistics and people from california with average GPA / MCAT and in some cases even low, have gotten in if the rest of their app is great. That said for out of state one needs pretty high stats. How does being from California help? Am I reading into this too literally? I thought CA was one of the most competitive states even if in-state. According to MSAR stats are about the same out-of-state and in-state. UCSF is very mission based and interested in students that have overcome adversity, can add diversity to their school, and are social justice/community-oriented.UCSF is holistics and people from california with average GPA / MCAT and in some cases even low, have gotten in if the rest of their app is great. They send out a Zoom link a couple days prior to the info session! For those who received an interview, where can I find the links/more information about those info sessions they mentioned?
They got those poor admissions people working OT.II for UCSF PRIME-US Parnassus 10/23… a Sunday 🤔… received 9/2, complete 9/10, verified 6/1.
Where are you seeing the 12/1 deadline? After a quick google I see that their MSTP secondary deadline is 12/1 but nothing about MDI'm applying to UCSF MD-only. I don't know if their MD-only program has a secondary deadline. I see that UCSF's secondary deadline is December 1st. I'm worried about if MD-only application has a December 1st deadline because what if the secondary invite doesn't come until November 30th and you only have 1 day to fill out secondaries if UCSF did not invite you until that late?
TBH that would be ridiculous if they did that but to avoid being stressed I would just prewrite. the secondary isn't too long either and some people don't even write the essaysI'm applying to UCSF MD-only. Yeah, idk if MD-Only has a secondary deadline. I'm just assuming the worst case scenario if the MD-only has the same secondary deadline as the MSTP secondary deadline.Where are you seeing the 12/1 deadline? After a quick google I see that their MSTP secondary deadline is 12/1 but nothing about MD
SO the MD secondary deadline is 2 weeks after you get the secondary. Hence I would guess they will send their last batch of secondaries in december asuming they will interview in January etc.Where are you seeing the 12/1 deadline? I went back to the portal a few days ago and there it says 2 weeks even though the email says 4...those of us who submitted between 2-4 weeks are probably fine, right? 😅It’s 4 weeks not 2 weeks according to their secondary email.
You should complete it. They are clearly interested in you else they would not have sent a secondary. Make sure your writing is good before submitting. You got this. Manifesting the II for you.Just got a secondary today! I'm surprised, I thought I got silently rejected because of my MCAT score of 506... is it even worth it for me to complete it?
Do you mind sharing when you were verified/submitted primary? Also congratulations!!!! 🍾🎉🎊Just got a secondary today! I'm surprised, I thought I got silently rejected because of my MCAT score of 506... is it even worth it for me to complete it?
