The admissions timeline page says that interviews occur through March.Have there been any interview invite’s recently? Or are they done interviewing?
Congrats! When did you interview in November?I just got accepted to UCLA DGSOM!!! So happy!!!! Interviewed in November. 🙂

I think the fin aid email addressing us by not our names refers to the name of UCLA's mascot/the nickname that they call their students (repping school spirit) haha!Just got a financial aid email addressed to the wrong person, oops…
It says that but I think they only interview through Jan, acc. to last year's thread :/The admissions timeline page says that interviews occur through March.
🙁 I'll be going to USC so I'm happy to be able to continue to stay in LA; I guess I'd just have to try to match into UCLA for residencies. It says that but I think they only interview through Jan, acc. to last year's thread :/

Interviews for traditional DGSOM track end this week. Not sure about CDU, MSTP, or PRIME.Have there been any interview invite’s recently? Or are they done interviewing?
Technically they can end it early if their class is filled 🙁Is that 100% confirmed? I know you're a current student but the admissions timeline on the website says they interview from August-March so I just wanted to check.
But how can they know their class is filled? I would assume the majority of those accepted here have multiple A’s? Right? Or do they have limits on acceptances offered?Technically they can end it early if their class is filled 🙁

I assume that they accept more people than they have space for and then based on previous years' experiences they are able to ballpark what % of accepted people will attend. Besides, they also have people on waitlists so if they're happy with the class they formed so far, there is no reason as to why they would continue interviewing, as painful as it is to admit 🙁But how can they know their class is filled? Fingers crossed!!It’s a good news kind of week 🥸![]()
For people who have an II maybe. But the earlier post basically told the other 90% of applicants that they have no longer have a chance so... 😢😢It’s a good news kind of week 🥸![]()
Why? Are they releasing decisions this week? It’s a good news kind of week 🥸![]()

You can ask for a waiver and they'll tell you what you need to be considered.Does anyone know how/why schools use financial information from the non custodial parents?
My parents are separated for many years and my non custodial parent does not support us in any way. It’s also hard to get into contact with said parent. However, ucla has a mandatory non custodial parent financial aide form, does anyone have any info on how they handle this? Specifically:
1. If I’m not able to access the information from the non custodial parent
2. How the income of that parent may affect me even if they contribute nothing to me
Thanks I’m advance.
In case anyone is in the situation of needing this waiver form, this is what I needed to submit last year:You can ask for a waiver and they'll tell you what you need to be considered.
You do not need to submit parental financial information to be eligible for federal Direct and Direct PLUS loans. You need parental financial information to be eligible for DGSOM-offered need-based scholarships and loans. You will also need both parental financial information to be eligible for Loans for Disadvantaged Students (LDS) program through the HRSA.However, ucla has a mandatory non custodial parent financial aide form, does anyone have any info on how they handle this?
In case anyone is in the situation of needing this waiver form, this is what I needed to submit last year:
- Typewritten personal statement which explains in detail the extenuating family circumstances that you believe your parent information should be waived
- 2 additional signed letters from a friend or relative who has personal knowledge of your family circumstance. Person writing this statement must include name, address, phone #, relationship to student
- Optional supporting documentation (legal documentation, police reports, medical records, death certificates, etc.)

Interviewed earlier this month, we were told some time around the end of Februaryis there any insight as to when january interviewers hear back? I've been looking at previous threads but what's the earliest someone could hear (guesstimates are fun too)
Been mornings on Friday thus far. What time of day do decisions come out? Morning, afternoon, variable?
If the waiver is approved, then yes, you will be eligible for all UCLA-specific need-based aid offered. If you foresee yourself being in the situation of needing to submit a waiver, I highly recommend reaching out to the fin aid office -- they have always been beyond helpful and responsive to me.Thanks for the well written response, I appreciate it.
So providing the material required for exemption will still make me eligible for the dgsom offered aide?

Please note that the LDS program offered through the HRSA does NOT have a waiver or appeal process, so that is off the table unless you are (1) orphan/ward of the state or (2) parental passing.
Yea I didn't think it was my best workAnyone here who got accepted who thought their interview wasn't the best or didn't go well?
