Do they send out As at the same time or do they stagger them throughout the day?

Anybody interview on 1/19 hear anything yet? I cant believe people who interviewed in October didn’t hear back until today…. Wondering if they’ll even get to my interview group today

Is it safe to assume that they are done sending out acceptances for today?

Is the last acceptance day on the 3/15 and then everyone that didn’t hear back is on WL?

So everyone who was scheduled for an A today has gotten it? Kinda surprised that it all happened so early.

For those who got As today who interviewed last year, when did you receive the hold email? Interviewed on 1/11, got the hold two days ago, but no email today. Does that mean they passed on me?

they passed on you for this date, so your last chance for an outright acceptance is in March - otherwise you're put on the WL

I do not believe so, they fill 25% of the class per decision release date, and they vote every Monday, so you are still in the running for a spot in the class
Could you elaborate this a little further? I'm a little confused on exactly what you mean

From what I remember, they vote every Monday on the applicants that they interviewed the previous week, and then on the designated days, they release the acceptance. For each acceptance days (there have been 3) they accept 25% of the class (184 students/4 = 46 students per decision release date though perhaps they accept a bit more than that since not everyone will matriculate). I guess what I am trying to say is that I believe they are saving seats for each decision date. I remember reading this from the past threads but my memory could be failing me haha...someone please correct me if I am wrong

I do have a question about internal rankings. So..since I didn’t get in 2/1, I now have to wait for 3/15. I know I was ranked somewhere, just don’t know how high or low.

My question is that, will my internal ranking remain where it is or will they readjust based off the new ppl they interview between now and 3/15? So, could my ranking drop down if they like the new ppl they interviewed more?

I’m curious bc they sent As 2/1 and I didn’t get one so I’m assuming I’ve moved up because those above me were offered decisions and removed from the rankings.

That’s how I think it works too.

Let’s say they have 150 people on the ranked list on 1/31/23. You are ranked 75th for whatever reason (just a hypothetical). Top 50 get As on 2/1/23 leaving a list of 100 people.

As of 2/2/23 you are ranked 25 out of 100. They interview another 100 people, some of who do amazing, average, and terrible. I would bet that you end up somewhere in the high 30s to low 40s (which makes the cut! Gz!). In this scenario, the only way you don’t get an A the next release date is if 26 people rank above you. That would be hard to do because you are already toward the top of the rank list.

However, if you did poorly and are ranked 75/100 on 2/2/23, everyone has to do really bad and you need wait 2 release dates. This isn’t possible as there is only 3/15 left. In this situation, you are on the WL.

The general trend seems to be that people get skipped on one release date and then accepted on the next. This gives evidence that people get bumped up to the top after a release date.

Thank you so much for replying. I’m hoping what you say is accurate bc that gives me a lot of hope. This is prob the last school I’ll hear from, so I’m clinging onto it.

I felt like that would be the way it works but they don’t have it clearly stated so I was hoping someone else had an idea.

For those that sent updates post-interview did you receive a response or confirmation it was received?

Anyone know if VCU Med School ever plans to do another deal with INOVA medical for M3 and M4?
