If we interviewed Oct/Nov and havent heard back, but WashU isn’t our top choice should we send LOI or update letter? WashU is super high up on my list but I think there’s one other school that’s in contention/I may attend over it.

I'd say don't send a letter of intent if you're not 100% sure, but I interviewed recently and they said they're very receptive to updates and letters of interest

thanks chief, i shall show you our famous zoo and garden 🤣 no need to attend the info session next Wed I got u covered
I've already been to both -- I was at WashU for undergrad. In fact, I could probably drop by next weekend or something since I'm still in St. Louis

But please show everyone else in our class! Take them to the city museum too

MSTP! My cycle is officially over, going to buy some champagne today. Home for 8 more years! (maybe 14?)
Congratulations!!! I’ve been following your journey this cycle and I’m so happy that you got the A from WashU!

On the topic of STL, I’m visiting for the first time next Saturday for Discovery Day so if anyone wants to show me around by all means .. 🤣

if you have some free time during your visit, you can take a walk around Forest Park and visit the Zoo, St. Louis Science Center, etc.. One of the best things about STL is a lot of attractions are free, including both of the things above

You can also visit the Danforth campus if you're at all interested

Not in St. Louis any more so I can't show you around, but I would recommend Mai Lee, Corner17, Chilispot, and Salt and Smoke for food! Kaldi's is good for coffee and Colleen's is small, but good for breakfast! Some of the places I mentioned are closer to the undergrad campus or more easily accessible via car, but I think El Burro Loco and Jeni's (ice cream) is close to the med school campus and also popular spots!

can confirm delmar loop has some of the best food.

Ik the Kira practice had 4 questions but is the real Kira interview more than 4 questions?

Anyone know what the turn around time is currently post ii to get A??

They’re rolling. No set time could be a couple weeks could be several months
Is it really true that people who interviewed early cycle can still get accepted in late Feb/March? I ask because going through past threads a lot of late admits are Jan/Feb interviewees (but this cud be sample bias or just people didnt specify dates).

I interviewed in November and have yet to receive any word back. I will have a publication update in mid March, but I worry that that is too late to send them an update letter (I have some smaller updates I could send now, and I have not yet sent them any communication since my interview). Both of my interviewers conversed extensively with me about my research and urged me to send an update when I had a publication update. This is my top choice. When do they typically send rejections/waitlists and what do you guys recommend?

I interviewed in September and haven't heard back lol. I think it's not impossible that some of us will get in even though we interviewed earlier. I think it doesn't hurt to send in a publication update when its been accepted.

Same position here. I went back in some old threads a few months ago and tbh it looks...not ideal for us early interviewees to get in during the later wave (almost guaranteed WL). But we can cling on to some hope because WashU usually goes hella deep into their WL. But it's also a big WL every year so. yeah, this school's recruitment is weird lol. Good luck either way.

Hello all! My portal updated with a scholarship tab that said I have been selected for the DSS scholarship. However, I have not gotten a phone call. Someone please tell me this is real, right?! Or is it not real until I get a call?
