CONGRATS!!! Those are some incredible odds to overcome! Soak it up <3

For those who got the A, did y'all get a PDF of the acceptance letter?

Is there an accepted students chat? Seattle cohort, specifically?

Just got the II, OOR (technically; Not sure if I am being considered as in-region due to certain reasons)

LM 68, non-trad.
Congrats! Can I ask when were you complete? UW has left me on read since I submitted my OOR secondary at the end of Aug, I've pretty much resigned myself to the eventual R at this point but still curious 🥲

I was complete 9/14 officially. From what I understand, each application is reviewed by a different member of the adcom, and some are much slower or faster than others. Don't give up hope, the R isn't official until it's official.

Edit: I got the follow-up to schedule today, and the options were either 11/28 or 11/30 😳

I saw on UW's website that montana IIs happen feb 5-8 (Admissions Interview | UW Medicine) was your interview on 10/17 or did you just receive notice on 10/17 that you would have an ii in feb?
To clarify, an interview invitation is when they tell you "Hey, we'd like to interview you" - normally we specify that with the date that such an email came in. Interviews themselves can come anytime from a week to a few months after the II is received.

To be succinct, in this example, 10/17 would have been the date they received the email notice that they reached the interview step.

Received the notice on 10/17 for an interview. The email said “As a Montana applicant, your interview will take place during the week of February 5, 2024.”

I was browsing previous UW SDN threads and saw a couple posts about "SUR" emails. I am assuming these are distinct from SUC emails because people got them before interview invites.

I was complete mid semptember and haven't recieved a SUR email. Just radio silence. Can I just confirm if anybody else has recieved them?

(I'm freaking out on Thanksgiving 🦃)

Also complete mid September and haven’t received anything

Complete August and not a single email since even though my app is now past the 1-3 month timeframe they give ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I guess they aren’t sending the SUR emails this cycle.

Question for those who have interviewed, do they tell you the names of your interviewers? Did you guys have time at the end to ask them questions?

I found the names of my interviewers on the portal, not sure how early they appeared because I only found them the day before my interview.

There wasn't really time to ask questions, and they actually explicitly discourage doing so anyway. They say that you should use the interview time to focus on you, and there will be time to ask questions at the q+a which is on a different day.

yeah, the 3 people on one makes it honestly more impersonal and they just ask you a question, you answer and there's almost no commentary after that, just cycle to next person for another question. You don't get to ask about them at all unless the EC member lets you ask them questions at the very end when the other two leave and its just one on one.

They all introduced themselves with their names! As mentioned before, there really wasn't time for questions at the end, and we were discouraged from asking them! I had maybe a minute of time left at the end where they asked me if there was any message I would like to leave with them. I was able to give a brief send-off about me and my desire for medicine. I definitely recommend doing this instead of asking questions!

After my 30 minute interview the main interviewer (my advocate ADCOM person) pulled me into a different breakout room and had me ask my questions there! she gave me time and was very thorough in her answers!

so i would say prepare some questions just in case they let u ask

That's incredible!! Congratulations! So happy to see that the appeal process legitimately works

Thanks so much! I was suprised the appeal worked! It was for low GPA (I'm assuming), but I have 2+ years of postbac at a 4.0. It still didn't bring my cGPA above a 3.0.

Out of curiosity, what was the appeal process like? Was it a formal letter and what kinds of things did you highlight?

It was an email to the admissions office requesting an appeal. I cited my grade trend, my diversity in experiences, and my lifelong residency in Washington. They responded back that they’ll do a manual review of my file. After two weeks, they responded that my appeal was granted and sent the residency paperwork.
