2023-2024 Washington University in St. Louis

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
In my eyes, it's kinda like showing them your cards. If they know that you'd 100% attend no matter what, what incentive do they have to give you any aid? They could instead offer it to other top tier students that seem like they'd need a bit more convincing to attend
Seems pretty silly, I’m sure there are people who write LOIs but end up going elsewhere for financial reasons. Keep in mind WashU’s need based aid is pretty good and you’ll get that regardless of LOI.

Does anyone know how thank you letters should be done here? Like direct to email or via the portal

Any chance of A's coming out in the next few days? I know last month they released around this time.

I'd say probably not until around February 12th which is when it says the second round of decisions will come out (per the release timeline on the portal).

Are these pre-II Rs just coming out slowly? Just trying to prepare myself

No need to wait for the email. Just log in to your portal and you will see under communication. Good Luck.

ring em' up, give it up for another +1 OOS Pre-II R.
been a long ride waiting for WashU's decision between all those newsletters+misc emails. good luck to everybody else! praying for y'all

Pre-II R… their R email is so strange, telling me to apply to their institution for residency lol
What's even weirder is if you look at the rejection decision statement on the portal it thanks you for interviewing (definitely didn't get an II) as well as mentioning you coming there for residency.

Got hit with the R wave yesterday. I love how the rejection was like "please consider us for your Residency." That's a whole lot of assumptions.

What is the dress code for admissions conversation and financial aid session for those doing it on a separate day from their interview?

Most people wore dress clothes, but some wore casual so I assume their interview was on a separate day.
