2023-2024 Wisconsin

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
got an email today saying that my application was placed on an interview waiting list... not sure what this means lol. kinda freaks me out, if anyone has any insight, that'd be great!

anyone know how important MCAT score is for UW? I know my score is a major downfall on my app and I really want to go to UW...I am IS, went to undergrad here, and worked at the affiliated hospital as well. any insight would be appreciated!!!

Average is 511. When I spoke with the admissions office they and told me that as long as you're around that average you should be OK. I was under the impression from our conversation that anything under 507 was pretty meh. As somebody with a lower MCAT, school average or higher GPA, and great extracurriculars. I also grew up in Wi and half my family is alumn: I was rejected. I know they say it's not the most important part of an application, but it certainly is an easy criteria to deny 5500/6000 students.

IS interview waitlist today, LM 75, complete 8/25 but had to resubmit residency form so not sure where my app was in the pile. I looked through the thread last year and saw that a few people who were interview waitlisted posted that they received IIs in late December (although in some cases people just said +1 so unclear if they meant II off of waitlist or just II--love the SDN games of telephone). Greatly to my chagrin there is no way of using extremely externally valid SDN "data" to estimate II percentage off the waitlist because no one posted that they were rejected off of it; very few IS people posted Rs in general. But it is clearly not a soft R so that's nice

I just checked on MSAR and apparently the earliest time they release decisions is November 30th but during interviews we were told that they might release them during mid December or by the end of the year. Does anyone know if they usually release them around November 30th or should we assume later?

I assume that was likely the original goal. However, during the wrap up they said maybe mid-December so I wouldn't keep hopes up about end of this month.

I emailed the admissions advisor asking if update letters are accepted, and she said that they do not accept updates. I am hoping and praying I get an II and A from UWSMPH, is there anything I can do while I wait to show my interest??

You can wait and have confidence that your secondary essays expressed your interest

A physician I work closely with is a UWSMPH alumni. I told her I have not received an II, and she offered to write a letter recommending me to the school. Would this be beneficial in any way, and does UWSMPH even accept these? I cannot find info about this on their website. TIA!! 🙂

They don’t accept any updates prior to an interview.

OOS II LM 76 complete in early September.

Strong ties with family in the area and my Dad went to UW undergrad.

Congrats to everyone with an II! For those with IS II, what date were you complete?

any current students here willing to do a mock interview with me?

Has anyone who applied to the WARM program heard anything at all? Feels like there's been hardly any mention of WARM on here.
