2024-2025 Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine (RowanSOM)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Was completed Sept 2 and have not heard back yet. IS and stats are all on par with Rowan's averages. Starting to get nervous. Is anyone else in the same boat?
That's just barely over 3 weeks :) It's a long cycle and way too early to worry, especially since Rowan's cycle began later than most other schools

Anyone have any insight on the interview? I have mine next week and I'm super nervous since this is one of my top picks!

Does anyone know how long it takes them to send the secondary email? I sent in my primary on Wednesday (late ik i was just waiting on my updated MCAT score).

Question for this "Orientation session." I read this is mandatory, but if I am unable to go on the Oct 7th day, will my decision be delayed until I go to the mandatory Admissions Interview Orientation since I have already done my interview just last week?
Assuming they only do one orientation session once a month

when a school says mandatory i would treat it like its mandatory

Yeah fair but they gave me an interview before this interview orientation which I find a bit weird. I wonder from other cycle how many times they do this orientation per month. As I do intend to attend the mandatory one but kinda does suck if my application is put on hold even if I did my interview b/c of the orientation. Hoping it a thing where you just have to attend before you send in your deposit.

Hi when did you guys get the orientation email. I never got any email for an orientation session on the 7th.

Hi

IS, URM, Graduated from college in 2021 with a 3.1 GPA but did an SMP at a NJ MD school and ended with a 3.6. 513 MCAT. Lots of clinical experience (big emphasis on elderly patients); will have racked up thousands of hours by the time matriculation rolls around (I started a full time MA job at a pain management practice in May).

I met with one of the admissions counselors end of June and she told me that my app was competitive but that I should apply ASAP. Aaaaand now it is October! Because my grades were so low, my desire to overcompensate through my narrative/essays has been crippling. generally, I have been so slow to submit applications because I have been such a perfectionist with every word I write.

Anyways, I am now almost ready to submit but I am really worried that I missed the boat :( I know that the DO cycle runs longer and that it's technically not late yet but it seems like Rowan really emphasizes early submission. Anyone have any insight?

Also maybe should add that I signed up to go to an event on campus (scheduled for 10/28)..I got an email about it? Idk if that is a relevant piece of info lol

Hi I am just curious but did you already interview, or did you just get an II today? I interviewed super early due to ED, so idk if thats the reason I did not get an orientation email.
Yeah I did my interview already too. Middle of Sep.
Hence my reason of slight worry and sadness that my app might be on hold b/c I can't go to the orientation :p
Oh well I guess it still early but sucks you know.
Wonder how many sessions they do per month.

OOS +1 II, app completed 8/7

Anyone with words of advice/tips, you will be immensely appreciated 🙏

Hi all, how long did it take for your secondary to be marked complete? I submitted mine at the end of September, and I wanted to find out how much longer it might take to be complete. Thanks!

4 days (including weekend) submitted a couple hours after it was sent out

It says my file is complete in the portal, but I never received an email that it is complete. Did this happen to anyone else?

oos II! Are my post-interview chances lower as an OOS? The 2% oos matriculation rate scares me.
