so i interviewed at cornell on 9/24 and the school was very nice. it sells itself. many of the kids i interviewed with were very dorky and the creme de la creme ( im sure) My interview didnt go well as i got grilled, and to top it off my thank you letter had a blatant spelling error that was sent by mistake. lol i guess i should write that off. Anyway just posting to give people a heads up. Its a long wait from now, but i am sure i wont be getting an acceptance lmao

ami u should be fine in getting an interview there u got great application and ur a fellow hispanic urm. Although my numbers are below average for cornell, and peeps on this site are obsesed with stats, and would probably attribute it to my urm status, i know i wrote a really witty essay that had schools calling my advisor asking about me. Point being, they look at the whole person, as everyone knows by now, so dont sweat it.

Sflo, I was wondering if you could help me out by letting me know when you were complete at Cornell. I have been complete for a while now, and still haven't heard from them (although I did take the August 7th MCAT). Let me know what's up! Btw, PR? Cuba?

hey guys, what's the link for checking our application status? thanks!

did anyone who has already interviewed get an email from Cornell today saying thanks, and to be patient as they notify people in March?

TX!

I have a quick question - which months for interviewing give me the best shot at getting into a specific school? Is November/December too late and would I only be interviewing for waitlist spots? For example, I received an interview at Mount Sinai which is on November 21st. Cornell just e-mailed me yesterday saying that I received an interview, giving me the option to do it on November 20th since I'll be in New York anyway (I told them this). But Cornell said I could do it earlier (in October) if I wanted to. Is the difference between mid-October and mid/late-November very substantial in terms of interviewing times? Is it worth paying money for an extra trip to New York in October just to get the interview in earlier so I may have a better shot at getting in?

A penny for your thoughts....

Maybe this would be a factor if Cornell had rolling admissions, but it doesn't. I don't think your interview date matters, as along as you get an interview.

ditto

mighty chip I am half greek and half puerto rican. Essentially a greekorican. I was complete at the school 8/26 and offered an interview 9/10. My interview was 9/24 and I know that I was the second day of interviews there. You have time. Dont sweat it. Where u from, and just try to keep things broad. I am really trying to stay nuetral and not fall in love with one school. Keep the options open, cuz this dam process is so arbitrary.

cornell interview invite today =) I was complete 9/21

labgod, im in your boat.. complete 8/6 and not a word

Besides getting an interview, does the Cornell status message ever change? Does it say if you're under review? I've had the application is complete message since I submitted.

9/5 here. I held off on Cornell for too long. I hope you get an invite LET

try 9/12... thats what vacation and too many secondaries does to you! i hope i get an invite

I emailed Cornell and told them that I had the Sinai interview on 12/15, and I got a prompt reply saying that there has been no decision made on my file, and that they interview until February, and it made me feel really stupid because the person reading it probably started laughing thinking that I could get an interview at Cornell... That has gotta be depressing....

Interview invite from my favorite NYC school!! Cornell!!!! Yay!!!!!!! 🙂

I must add that it is so nice to finally get another interview invite. I haven't gotten any new invites for so long now...

Yay for Weill interviews! Anyone know if they're still planning on accepting a few in December, then the rest in March?

Hey Guys!

I got an interview invite today (10/22)!!! I was complete on 8/4, so there is still hope for those of you who were complete a while ago and still haven't heard. Good luck! So excited about Cornell!

OK, have they sent out any rejections yet?? Complete since 7/14.

any interview feedback from anyone who has recently interviewed? Any pearls of wisdom? My interview is on Tuesday and I'm not really sure what to expect.

I'd say, as everyone does, the most important thing is to be yourself. In addition, make sure you do your research on the school so you have a good grasp about why you want to go there. Other than that have fun! The interview is very relaxed and ultimately fun!

Sweet man I have an interview at MSSM the same day.
Look forward to meeting you! 🙂

Is the interview at Cornell open file or closed?

I sent an e-mail to Cornell yesterday telling them that I'd be in the area for two other interviews in November. They responded today saying that they had not yet finished reviewing my application, and they did not know when they would be finished.

The e-mail was extremely polite, which was nice. They didn't make me feel like a complete reject... but I'm getting antsy and impatient. I've been complete since July. How long can it take to make a decision?

Ditto Carlin. C'mon now. I've been complete forever.

I think most people have been getting invites about a week after the "in the area" e-mail. It possibly could do with the timing though....I said I'd be there the first week of November so they probably had to review me faster. If you said late November...they can still take their time and invite you in the next couple weeks.

I agree, I think it must have to do with when you say you're in the area. I sent them an email two days ago because I was going to be in New York during the first week of November and they got back to me a day later with a few possible dates/times. I called and it was quick and easy to schedule...the office seems extremely friendly and very accommodating, so just hang in there.
