really, a rejection already? My status has not changed (still says thanks for interviewing...decisions will be made in march), and did not receive an email...just wondering, did you interview?

pre interview rejection. lol

Chin up kiddos. I'm pretty sure there is another wave coming. It seems like all of the people accepted interviewed recently. There are still a whole bunch of people in the middle that need to hear some news. Sit tight! There will probably be a big day of decisions this week or next week.

So far we've seen 9 acceptances on SDN from February. IF SDN represents about 15% of the pre-med population, then I'm guessing probably most of the acceptances have gone out.

I dunno. We'll see I guess.

So are we automatically waitlisted if we're not accepted?

Assuming that SDN also represents 15% of Cornell interviewees, you might be right. No one has ever proven if SDN is a balanced representation of applicants. Most seem to favor a heavy top and heavy bottom representation. I agree that most of the acceptances at hand were probably given out, but I have a feeling that there's going to be one last chunk of them before waitlists are designated (or at least we all hope!)

I would prefer Lyss to be correct than for me to be correct that this is all of the acceptances 😛.

I think there is hope if you JUST interviewed...like last week maybe. I think that's what Cathy meant when she said they were still sending some more out...because obviously, they don't have decisions on those people yet. For all else, I would say hope for WL!

That is the opposite of Drlyss who thinks its the middle (nov, Decish?) interviewees who still need a decision? Anybody who can confirm that most recent acceptees interviewed recently?

not true...
I just got an acceptance off of a November interview. My guess is that the rest will come out very shortly.

Second "not true". I interviewed in november -- but i'm sure there are more acceptances to be given out! good luck

I stand corrected! I still think there are more to come though. It's not over until you are reading a rejection letter! At least that's what I think...

HaHa and I love the Office clip

Got my acceptance letter last Friday, interviewed Tues the week before. Congrat to all those who also got the wonderful email, hopefully see you on April 3rd.

Hey there,

If anyone wouldn't mind posting when they receive their waitlist or rejection (post interview) letters, that'd be great!

Tx 🙂

Sooo...today I decided to call admissions and check what the deal was. The lady was nice, took my amcas number and checked it in the computer, pausing, then telling me "it's still under review...they are going to keep making/sending decisions for another 2 weeks". Then I asked her if all the acceptances had gone out, and she repeated that decisions were still being made (whatever the HELL that means).

That put a little spring in my step and gave me some hope...until I just spent the last hour perusing the last 2 year's Cornell March decisions threads. Both follow the exact same pattern. Acceptances go out randomly by e-mail in early March; people panic and wonder if they didn't hear what it means, call admissions, get exactly the same shpeal I did this morning, sigh with relief and hope good news will come.

However, in NEITHER year (2008 or 2007) did anyone post of receiving an acceptance after the initial batch. A few days after the e-mail acceptance wave, people's statuses changed to "a decision has been mailed". For this early batch, it pretty much meant wait list. Other people's status didn't change for another week/2 weeks, and that meant rejection or wait list. So basically, these "continued decisions" are probably who's going to be on the WL vs. reject (and there are A LOT of people on the wait list).

I'm sorry to those who were hoping, but I'd rather know the truth than bask in false hope, as I'm sure we all have other decisions to make for other schools. It's a shame the admissions office is not more frank with us, I think it's the least they could do. Goodbye Cornell, don't know why you hated me, but I know for damn sure I can't change it.

Peace and love👍👍

QFT.

I would love to be wrong, but I'm not going to hold onto any hope that there's more acceptances coming.

Hey, thanks for posting, Paging. I definitely wasn't getting my hopes up about anything.

Yeah, I wish they could just send out the acceptances and rejections/WLs at the same time.

I wonder if I'm WLed or rejected.

No news here either. Hoping for the best but not expecting much considering the admission trends of the past few years (thanks PagingDrP for looking into that).

Congrats to recently accepted people! Cornell is great!

Status page updated: admissions decision has been mailed to you

Waitlist or rejection?

no change on my status still...thank you for interviewing, class selected in mid-march, etc.

Based on what PagingDrP read, it's probably a waitlist.

No status change here either.

FYI: I interviewed on 9/24 (good GRIEF) and have yet to receive any kind of correspondence... hoping waitlist, expecting rejection. 🙂

"An admissions decision has been mailed to you. Please contact us if you have not received it within two weeks."

Guess that's it for me 🙁

Here's hoping for the best :xf: Good luck to everyone else still waiting on a status change..

i have a feeling the rest of us have to wait until friday for another decision batch.... good luck everyone

The patchwork way everyone seems to be getting info (status page updates, no status page updates, accept e-mails, reject letters, ect...), it really does seem like they are still not finished with the process. Its too random. It seems they are just sifting through what they have still.

Look at NYU for example, they just gave out their final regular accepts, a lot of wait lists, and some rejections, all on the same day. I sincerely doubt Cornell is taking this time just to decide how to formulate their wait list, imo.

for what it's worth, my status page changed today to "a decision has been mailed to you..."; changed sometime between 7:30am and 3:30pm, eastern time...don't know what it means yet (WL or rej) but I thought I'd post to let people know...

Mine changed as well. Must have been sometime today.

sometime between 9 am CST and now. guess its WL?

Letter sent. Interviewed end of October. Good luck to everyone still waiting!

damn. Mine changed too. Are accepted students statuses unchanged still?

*edit* interviewed in november.

Got the status change, too. Interviewed early November...Good luck all!

My status page has changed as well. Hoping for a wait list! I also interviewed in early November.

Does anyone know what kind of wait list movement Cornell has?

Is there anyone who has yet to receive an acceptance and still has the "thank you for interviewing" status?

Mine changed to "decision has been mailed" today, as well. I interviewed in October. It seems like most of us are from the early interview batch. Strange how they organize this process...

Hoping for a waitlist :/
Good luck to all of you. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this bunch!!!

Got the status change too. Totally expected as per my earlier post. Interviewed in early October

Does anyone know what kind of wait list movement Cornell has?

I've heard about 20-30% (20-30 people) of the class comes from the wait list. However, without knowing how many are on the wait list to begin with, that info is pretty much useless.

well, based on my assumption from previous years' trends, at least we are in the earlier group to see the status change.... however, no one has yet to say that their status still says "thank you for interviewing" as people had in previous years.

Annd...status change for me too.

Do they tell us where we are on the waitlist or is that a secret?

I talked to someone who applied last year and was put on the "high priority wait list" which, I'm assuming, means there is a "regular priority wait list" as well. So they may do some sort of tier system but I doubt they number it or anything. I also think they wait list A LOT of people (at least 250-300 if not more)...
