Just got the waitlist email as well. Interviewed in late september (i think it was the first interview date possibe). man that was a long wait, haha.

I've gotten nothing yet. Interviewed in early December. Oh God, I want DMS so badly.

Got waitlisted, as well. I interviewed at the beginning of October. It's nice to hear something from them finally. This is by far my top choice. It's nice to hear I still have a chance.....

By the way, does anyone know about how many they put on their wait list?

Wow, so many waitlists!! Is their waitlist movement good? Good luck guys :luck:

Any suggestions for interview or the interview day aside from the interview feedback forum? :)

And thanks for the info to getting to the school. I'll still have to look into the details, but hopefully it's all worth it!

i got waitlisted too. i interviewed mid-december. :(
I interviewed in early december, but I have not heard anything... is this good or bad?

My sentiments exactly.... By the way, since we both interviewed around the same time, did we meet? I interviewed on 12/4.

I was on the 11th. I met a pair of California girls, mainly. Are you a gorgeous girl from California?

Taken from their waitlist email...

"Accurate forecasting of your chances of acceptance is difficult, but experience tells us that a number of acceptances are likely to be offered between late May and the start of classes in late August. In fact, in the last fifteen years we have had only one year in which we were not able to admit some candidates from the waiting list.....Historically we have experienced wide variation in Waiting List activity from year to year, but in general we plan to admit additional candidates. In some years the number is small; in others, close to two dozen."

So is it only waitlists by e-mail, and post interview rejections and acceptances via snail mail?

Has anyone been rejected post interview? I saw a few on the rejection thread but I don't know if they're valid because the entries that say i+ for Dartmouth used to say l+. I think the l may have been changed to an i somewhere along the way.

What's the difference between a capital I and a lower-case i? Or, for that matter, a lower case L versus an i?

diff between L and I on the list was letters sent versus interview had. We removed the letters sent designation because it didn't give any information that secondary complete didn't already have.

Yeah, what Raryn said. Some people in the rejection thread indicate that it came post interview but if you look back a few pages you'll see that it was previously post LOR.

good luck to all of you. DMS is a great school. My roommate is a 3rd year in the MD/MBA program with Tuck.

I work in the hospital...probably saw some of you when you interviewed on the 5th floor of Borwell, sitting on the bench by the elevator looking so nervous. haha.

My understanding from the interview day was that their admissions policy involved assigning a batting average to each applicant post interview. They then start from the top and bottom and reject and accept accordingly until the middle portion is left, which they then put on the waitlist at the end of the admissions cycle. Since they have started putting people on the waitlist, does this mean they have sent most of the acceptances and rejections out already, or is there a middle 'wait-list' batting average? Basically, is it a good sign or a bad sign if you haven't heard anything back post interview?

I think it depends on if they have actually assigned you this score. I called and they refused to tell me if they had even discussed my file (I interviewed early dec).

If any of the way early interviewers hasnt heard anything (ie acceptance or waitlist), then I would say that it might be ok. If everyone has, then we are probably still in limbo.

I interviewed in late Oct and haven't heard.

Hmm well idk then. They are either holding onto post interview rejections before sending them or have a good idea of where the acceptance bar will fall and sent waitlist notices to the people who definitely wont make it.

Hey all - so would I be sending a negative signal to the admissions office (and affecting my chances) or would I miss out on a lot if I missed the final 3:30-4pm school tour with the students?

(1) I can't afford to miss so many days of classes for this Tues interview, and (2) I really want to try to avoid having to spend a lot of money for staying an extra night in NH, which all equates to the fact that I need to catch the 4:45pm flight on my interview day :(

PS - I really hope I'm not interviewing for a waitlist spot. :xf:

Don't worry about it, the tour is pretty informal and the tour guides won't be reporting back about who attended and who didn't. They're accomodating and recognize that it's hard to get into / out of Hanover to catch flights.

Just got an acceptance letter in the mail, postmarked Feb. 6th. Still in shock that I got in, this is amazing. I interviewed Jan. 20th.

Where are you guys located? As in should the rest of us be waiting by the mailbox possibly for a letter?

I guess since everybody else is revealing the good news I suppose I will follow suit. I got my letter last thursday with a personalized card from the dean himself. Thought it was a nice touch. Good luck to those who are still waiting.

incase anybody wants to know: interviewed in november (forget when) and I'm from san diego

At least 1 letter made it to California. I'm in the Bay Area. I wouldn't stress too much right now based on how the admissions process was described. No news=good news (just not great news).

:luck:

Err great. No news when people in Jan get acceptances means we dont get on the WL and we dont get accepted=rejection waiting to happen (they want to make sure their bases are covered before rejecting all of us).

Well you could consider the fact that the letters may not be sent at the same time despite having the decisions rendered at the same committee meeting (or however Dartmouth does it). Lol I remember reading earlier in the thread about another californian tossing away his acceptance because dartmouth wasn't in california or something.. maybe it was me who got it.

Congradulations to all that have been accepted.

I am an international applicant. I was wondering if you can post your Stats and if any Canadians have received a letter of acceptance.

Anyone who interviewed at Dartmouth in October still waiting to hear from them or am I the only one?

I also interviewed in October and no word. I had crap interviews

Has someone confirmed with the admissions office that Letters of Interest will for sure not change your batting average?

Waitlisted.... Interviewed 12/4...:(

I could just get flat out rejected.

Nope... I think you are probably on the borderline, and they are gonna see if they will go a little bit lower for the priority score and then you'll get in... you'll see. Good luck!:luck:

funkydrmonkey or anyone else who may know,

I'm sorry to repeat this question but does anyone know for sure if letters of interest make any different to your application score? Any input here would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

No, our number is set in stone, at least that is what they told us during the interview...

They will probably not make a huge difference if you have yet to be scored, but if you are wait listed then they may well make a large difference (when a spot opens up, the entire wait list is looked at again).

So I have been complete since very early August and have yet to hear anything. I know quite a few people have been rejected, but is there anyone that is in a similar boat? I am wondering if I still have a shot?

Can anyone elucidate Dartmouth's admissions process? Are people who interviewed early (Sept-Dec) and have not heard anything in some sort of limbo between Accept and Waitlist? I figure if our batting averages were below the "waitlist range" then we would have received a rejection by now, if we were in the "waitlist range" then we would have received an email by now. Any thoughts?
