Did anyone submit the secondary before their AMCAS was verified? I put mine in the mail on Thursday and my AMCAS isn't yet verified. Hopefully this won't mess things up. Thoughts?
I don't think it will mess things up. At least I hope it won't since I plan to mail mine on Monday (and I don't think my AMCAS will be verified by then).

why risk it??? Its not like they are going to evaluate you until your AMCAS is verified anyways.

I am filling out this secondary and having trouble saving it.

Whenever I make changes and try to save it tells me that I have to "save as " or changes will be lost. So I save as and then re open and the PDF is blank again!!!!

Ive done this a few times now, very frustrating. Any advice?

if you are running on a Mac, open it in Preview. you can save it that way. if not on a Mac, i don't know. good luck

Quick Q.

I am a U.S. citizen and have aptly marked so on the 2nd application. However, do I also have to mark "yes" to the "permanent resident" question? If yes, where can I find this permanent resident document? I always thought a passport or birth certificate was suffice. Thanks

Anyone else having problems paying? I keep getting an error message and I've used both Firefox and IE...

SO I got an email saying they received my secondary, but I cant access the status page they gave me, bc my email address is too long...grr...anyone else?

Nope, but I just signed in to see my status and it says my secondary isn't there yet. Which is ridiculous, since the whole point of my having gotten that email is that they HAVE received my secondary.

I almost positive that Windows does NOT allow any saved changes on any PDF file like that one....when I was filling it out my computer had a pop-up that warned me that I could not save any changes to the PDF....so I filled it out completely and immediately printed out 2 copies for reference.

Im pretty sure that you skip the proof of residence stuff if you are a US citizen and were born here

I'm still not verified but I got the email saying that they received my secondary, so it seems like you'll be fine.

"Permanent resident" refers to non-citizens in the United States with green cards. You are not a permanent resident.

As long as you got the email I wouldn't worry about it. Probably takes a bit to update on their status page. You will get another email when you app is complete. I did this morning...

The problem is that you need Adobe Acrobat Professional to edit and save a .pdf. Acrobat Reader won't do it (you can edit and print, but not save). This was a pain in my butt too, but I borrowed a roommates computer to fill it out and save it.

can anyone else log in to the status page?

when i entered in my username and pw, it says "Sorry, I cannot find your record"
Is this a glitch? cause yesterday it worked fine for me

Same here...but I was never able to do it.

That happened to me too... and when I clicked the "forgot my password" link they emailed me my password (which was different than the one they originally gave me by 1 symbol) and it worked.

For those who are frustrated with the 2ndary, get some freeware that will act as a virtual printer and print your document into pdf format. So what you do is type out ur 2ndary on the original pdf and then click print and then select the virtual printer to print in pdf format and voilah u have a saved pdf 🙂

http://www.download.com/PDF-Printer/3000-2088_4-10536746.html?hhTest&tag=lst-1&cdlPid=10795109

that is a good one that i used for the gw 2ndary 🙂
good luck 🙂

That's interesting that that works. I say this because Macs come with pdf creation capabilities, but they don't work with this type of read-only pdf. There is absolutely no way to save. Neither Preview nor Acrobat will save it.

Sorry if this has been brought up before...but how is everyone filling out their app? Is there a way to type in the pdf or are you just printing it out and filling it out by hand? Thanks!

i was having this issue and must have honestly filled out my gw app like 4 or 5 times in different programs before i realized you can just fill it out, go to file>print then in print options just put save as pdf and it will save it for you....the downside is it's no longer a "form" so you can't edit it after saving as pdf, but at least if your pages get wrinkled or something you can print out another copy without having to retype it

I sent out my secondary yesterday 👍

And I received 2 emails today, saying that I could access the application...I think that makes 4 or 5 total that I've received from them.

GW already emailed me a while ago that they received my secondary application as well as my LORs and will begin reviewing. They told me to check my status through their application status page. However, GW never sent me an email regardless of whether I create username and password through the "first time user" or the "forgotten username/password". Does anyone have the same problem? If so, how did you guys fix this?

Wow, have I been placed on hold already or does everyone who is complete have this status message?

"Your application is complete and currently on hold to be re-reviewed at a later date. Updates to your file are encouraged at this time."

Wish I could tell you, but I still cant access my status page, and frankly I dont care.

if they cant take the time to answer my emails, then screw them.

That sucks. Have you tried calling them? I'm sure other people with long email addresses are also having his problem.

My status shows they are waiting for my MCAT, which should be there in a few days. Interesting how they would put you on hold so early.

I couldn't even log in to the system. I had to request a new password for some reason.

Yeah, I only complete on Friday so I guess they really hated my app. On the plus side, I haven't gotten any GW secondary emails so far this week.

The password problem also happened to several other people last week too. So many glitches...

(Congrats on your MCAT score!)

How long after you mailed your application did you hear from them that it was received? I mailed mine late last Wednesday night and I'm wondering if it's too soon to call.

It took 1 week for me (Mailed 7/1, email on 7/8 that it was received on 7/5)

I'd definitely wait a little more.

For those people who have received the email saying their application is complete, what does your status page say? Mine says that I am on hold for re-review until a later time. Curious if this for everyone or if I've already been blackballed...

Yeah, I never actually saw mine say it was complete (just received an email saying it was) which is why I was holding out hope about that message.

Jazz...do you know why you got put on hold. I have similar stats and may not send my 125 bucks if you got screen out. thanks

Well I'm still holding out a little hope that this is just the current "application complete" message since no one with a complete application has said that they have a different message. Last cycle several people got interviews after being placed on hold so it's not like it's the end of the road if my app is on hold... I was just shocked that after being complete for only 1 full business day, I was put on hold.

My GPA is probably why I won't have the best chance of getting in... besides that, they get a zillion applications so your odds aren't that great to begin with. I really like GW for their health care policy focus so I took the $125 risk. Good luck if you decide to apply!

I called and they were supposed to send me an Email today telling me what to do about my problem....Nothing and its after 5.....grr

Jeez, sorry. I guess they are a little overwhelmed... hopefully it comes in the AM.

Bro, I think this might just be the complete message and nothing more.

Yeah, maybe it's the message for people who didn't get an autoinvite which are reserved for the truly stellar applicants?

Still, "on hold to be re-reviewed at a later date" sounds a whole lot like a hold. If a couple more people had the message, I'd feel more comfortable about not calling it a hold.

Mine says....
"Greetings, ______

Your current status is

Your application is complete."

But it took me a few tries to login - had to reset my password AGAIN. so weird. I was emailed that it was complete on the 8th of July if that helps

Wow. Okay, thanks. Good luck.

What a bunch of crap. I'm on hold too.
