Wow that gives me zero hope of hearing back before the New Years (I interviewed on 11/21). I'm betting your app has been reviewed and the lady on the phone was just misinformed. I've called a few times and they are not the most helpful admissions office in the world. Hopefully you hear some good news soon I'm betting you'll hear this week since this is the 8 week mark

I'm not sure how Merlin is doing - but I'm still waiting on my 10/14 interview... plan to call tomorrow morning just to check in. I'm afraid of having to wait until after the new years - I don't think I'll make it.

Does GW stick to a general timeline for reviewing applicants post-interview? I mean, how long does one have to wait after interviewing before geting a hold, acceptance, waitlist or rejection notification? Because it seems like they're pretty disorganized and make the rules as they go.

Looks like the next round has been released! I interviewed the first week of November (6 weeks ago) and just got the "correspondence has been mailed" message. So looks like a waitlist or rejection. (I'm actually not so disappointed, I really didn't like GW - for some reason I just didn't get good vibes there.)

For some reason, I was told I was switched to a different student interviewer during the day. In contrast to the faculty interviewer, my student interviewer did not have an envelope nor did she write anything down during our conversation. I would hate for her to forget any of our details or anything positive. Any thoughts?

Well - for those of you keeping track of things like this, I just heard back from GW (interview: 10/14) with a selection as an "alternate". I have to figure out exactly what this means... but at least it is not a rejection.

Still waiting! They wrote me an email apologizing for taking such an uncomfortable amount of time- and were actually really nice about it. In fact, the admissions counselor was so personal and sweet it made me want to attend GW even more. That said, if they lost my file, makes me wonder about my chances!???

For the waitlisters-- stay confident... I have the feeling the trend this year is lots of movement. I know pitt's planning to take tons from the waitlist, and the more schools that move their lists the more spots that open up somewhere else.

I'm on day 73... and ready to pass out. (Yes I have checked the status site multiple times a day for a month)

The waitlist did not move much last year. I can confirm this.

However I have heard that in years prior the waitlist has moved a lot more. This is only a rumor, though.

Both my student interviewer and my physician interview had a sheet to fill out. The physician interviewer didn't take any notes but seemed to remember a lot and was ready to fill out the form after I left. The study interviewer did take notes though.

So I'm not really sure what to say. I think my interview day went well and I do hope I get in, these next 8 weeks are gonna be agonizing...

Does anyone know how the interviewers evaluate us? I'm wondering if it is just comments or a numeric system...also how do they make a decision on acceptance? I'm assuming there is another admissions committee meeting where they take feedback into account, but are the interviewers required to be there to talk about it or what?

I can't tell for the life of me how mine went...! I was really surprised what an outgoing, interesting group of students they had there tho. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that I receive an early bday present in february in the form of an acceptance!

So this morning at work while i was waiting for the universe to slowly unfold itself, i thought about GWU and began panicking for no reason. After looking around to see if the coast was clear i logged onto my personal email for a quicksy look.

Lo and behold there was an email from them in my spam folder. It was only asking for a passport size photo but i nearly had a nervous breakdown thinking about all the causes/effects/implications/etc hahaha. I'm guessing my file has probably been delayed?

Hey guys! I just found out I got in a couple weeks ago, and I received my acceptance packet in the mail not long after that. I'm excited about GW and moving to D.C.!! Interviewed October 31, and got an acceptance e-mail on Dec. 18. Good Luck to all of you who are still waiting to find out!

keep in mind that this status may not change after your interview so the correspondence it refers to is likely your interview invite.

I am in the middle of a year off and didn't get that e-mail before my waitlist decision. But I also dicussed my job a lot during the interviews, so maybe that's why they didn't ask. Other people have gotten that e-mail though.

I actually had the same status before getting my interview invite. I had that status for about 2 weeks or so before receiving the interview. I don't want to give you false hope but I think an interview is heading your way. Good luck!
