Wow that gives me zero hope of hearing back before the New Years (I interviewed on 11/21). I'm betting your app has been reviewed and the lady on the phone was just misinformed. I've called a few times and they are not the most helpful admissions office in the world. Hopefully you hear some good news soonI'm betting you'll hear this week since this is the 8 week mark
Does GW stick to a general timeline for reviewing applicants post-interview? I mean, how long does one have to wait after interviewing before geting a hold, acceptance, waitlist or rejection notification? Because it seems like they're pretty disorganized and make the rules as they go.
At this point in the process, the following image is brought to mind:
A small child in Cambodia frolicks in a meadow, hoping to catch butterlies. While reaching for one, the child suddenly realizes that the butterflies are land mines.
Extrapolate what you will from this.
I'm not going to extrapolate but I'll tell you what I do know.
I do know last cycle they let me know that I was waitlisted about 4-5 weeks after I interviewed.
However, they did take forever (I mean until orientation) to tell me that I was not accepted. From what I am hearing (on the forums and from a friend who is a M1 there now), the list didn't move much last year.
In any case, I'm interviewing this Thursday. I hope to know of my decision before my next interview in mid-January, but I'm not sure if that will be the case.
Anyone else going to be there on Thursday?
I interviewed last Thurdsay and they said that 8 weeks was a very good estimate- we also have the hioliday season approaching.
Well - for those of you keeping track of things like this, I just heard back from GW (interview: 10/14) with a selection as an "alternate". I have to figure out exactly what this means... but at least it is not a rejection.
Good luck everyone still waiting to hear back!
waitlisted...who cares! 👎
Um... me? 🙄 Rejected at Vermont, waitlisted at Pitt, waitlisted at GW, waiting to hear from Tufts... I'll take every non-rejection I can get at this point!
I presume this means that I shoudn't expect to hear anything from GW until May 15 - right?
Boooo. Waitlisted as well.
me toooo... 🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁
anyone know about waitlist movement in the previous years?
though i'm kinda down about being waitlisted (ok, SUPER down), i still have hope!![]()
Question-
Did your student interviewer write out the evaluation during the interview?
For some reason, I was told I was switched to a different student interviewer during the day. In contrast to the faculty interviewer, my student interviewer did not have an envelope nor did she write anything down during our conversation. I would hate for her to forget any of our details or anything positive. Any thoughts?
For the update what did you send? Your new transcript or what your have done so far since after the application. I will appreciate if you can get back with me.... I am on hold too.
I got some good news today. On Christmas eve day, no less, they sent me my acceptance email. I got in. I wish everyone the best of luck as we all keep working through this marathon. And thanks for the good vibes before when I needed them.
WOOOOO HOOOOOO!

apparently ive been put on hold for later review.... was anyone else stuck w/ that status..... for how long??
I am dying to hear back from GW. I interviewed on Nov 11th and was so impressed with the school and community. I think that my interviews went really well, but than again, who really knows. I've already spoken with one of the other applicants from my interview day, and he was accepted on 12/24. I hope this doesn't mean that I've already been to the chopping block and there's now a letter in the mail. Does anybody have any idea of when I might hear back? Kinda tough to know with the holidays mixed in. I hope its either today or friday. That would be a great way to kick off 2009!
I got that after being complete in august. Then I was invited in mid-november.
Correspondence concerning the status of your application has been sent to you via postal mail to your preferred mailing address on file with AMCAS.
Has anyone received admission without receiving an email?????😕
When did you interview and how long did they tell you to wait for a decision?
I haven't, but then again i'm deferredI got an e-mail asking for an update on everything I have done since graduation. Do all people who have taken time off from school get this?

My status page changed to: "Correspondence concerning the status of your application has been sent via e-mail". But I didn't receive any email. I waited for 2 days and call them today. The lady wasnt very helpful all she told was they have sent an email 2days ago. Anyone that went through these? I just want to know what they sent me a rejection or an interview. At this point I already gave up on this application cycle but I would like to be out this Suspense. 😕😕😕
