The first thing they told us at the interview orientation was that they hated the rankings and thought they were meaningless.

It doesn't really matter where the information is from, I'm saying who cares if a school 'hates rankings'. I'm sure there are a lot of schools that hate rankings. Big deal. Judge a school on things that will effect you as a student.

That said, I have enjoyed Feinberg very much in the little over a year that I've spent here and endorse attending this school 100% if you guys have the chance.
 
I've been complete since 7/30 and still no word. Should I take this as bad news yet? I thought Northwestern's turnaround would be fast since they give the applications out in batches...

Hey Bretzel, I get the feeling that just because we have a section of our MCAT below 10, we automatically get pushed aside at some schools. What do you think?

well could be true, my verbal is under 10 and i have no word since being completed back in early august.

So stoked... I went to the bookstore yesterday to check out the interviewed/accepted ratio in the US News Ultimate Guide, and it's 58%!

Congratulations! I really want an interview here. Did you apply MD/PhD? I apologize for being creepy and nosing around your previous posts that said you applied MD/PhD for other schools..
 
Nope. I only applied MD/PhD to a few schools (like 5 total, I think). NWestern didn't seem to allow its mud phud'ers to get their PhDs in a public health discipline, so I opted for regular MD. I really like the other dual degrees offered at Feinberg, though. I'm all about being interdisciplinary, so I would totally go for the MPH or the MA.

I was complete on 8/12 and just got an invite today 🙂

As for the date of my interview, they gave me 4 choices of days within the next 2 weeks. I'm probably gonna email them to see if they will let me push the date into november.

i'm sure they will.

they sent me the email at 5:10 pm, and the email said "you are expecting to schedule your interview immediately." but i can't call to reschedule if the office is closed! so i called the following day to reschedule (for a week later) and the lady was really nice about it.
 
Got an interview invite - I was a happy camper when I saw the email. FYI, I was complete 8/19 and received the invite on 10/2.
 
I got an interview at NW recently, too. Good luck you guys, the next batch seems to be going out!

Cool. They are moving 🙂

I'm 8/21, hopefully I'll get mine this or next week, if I even get an interview that is 🙂.

For now, I'm happy enough with Mayo but would be even happier with a Northwestern invite.

I think NU is following the WashU route now too 🙂 37 median mcat is quite high

It's like undergrad all over again, except for undergrad they waitlisted me before they rejected me...

I wouldn't assume you're rejected...but I'd stop calling them. It's got to be kind of annoying plus it's not going to change your chances of getting an interview.

i've never called an office before. what do you usually ask? whether your application has been reviewed or not?? perhaps i should call at least once although i'm slowly giving up hearing from NU 🙁
 
Just for the record, this school rocks.

I interviewed there yesterday and I think I'm in love. Everything - from the location to the students to the facilities to the curriculum - is awesome.

I hope I get in. Apparently Feinberg has a staggered acceptance policy whereby if you are interviewed in October, you can hear back about an acceptance as early as mid-November.

Hmmm well I got the "application and payment confirmation" on Aug 13. Don't know if that means I was complete, though, as I got it the instant I submitted my secondary. The invite came Sept. 29.
 
sweet! I got confirmation on the 8/14, and was marked complete on status page on 8/21. Hopefully they'll review my app soon.
 
I was complete 8/4 and still haven't heard anything. Hopefully I get some good news soon!

im trying to figure out whether the dates i am going to be in chicago are already full.... whatevs, i'm going to fly out again if they invite me...come on NW!

hey guys,

I just called the admissions office to do the whole "I'll be in Chicago..." thing and

1) they were totally friendly but can't look at applications any faster whether you're in Chicago or not. they'll offer their interviews on their own timeline. that said, the woman did say that if they do decide to offer an interview, one could call and move it to an alternate date to accommodate travel plans.

2) for anyone who took a summer MCAT...they are only beginning to look at us in the middle of October. (i took it 7/8, and even though my status page says "complete and under review", i was told the "under review" part hasn't even started yet)

I'm definitely applying to the MD/MA should I get into to Feinberg. Seems like a great program.

Who the hell knows though what's happening to my application. I was submitted my application on August 12th and they had already had my letters by then. Is that when I was complete? I can't remember when my status page said i was 'complete and under review.'

I thought my stats were decent but maybe nothing special for Northwestern.

I think it is considered complete when you have your secondary and your LORs in (August 12 for you). I wouldn't worry yet. Seems like they are giving invites to late July/August people right now...and not necessarily in the order the applications were submitted. Good luck!
 
AHHHHH just got an interview to Feinberg!!! I am SO excited 😀 I've been checking my email like crazy lately specifically for this school!

For those of you still waiting: I submitted my secondary 8/5 (~20 min before the deadline!), submitted my LORs 8/26, and was complete on the status page on 9/4.
