speaking of the status page, mine says decision deferred to MARCH

This is the only venue where I would admit this, but I hope that you all are accepted. I specifically mean those who have had the balls to post on this forum. It's such a 'fit' school apparently, and I like that.

he may have interviewed previously and been deferred to the next wave of decisions....in march.

my status says:

"Current Status: Your application is now under consideration by the Committee on Admissions. "

When did it change?

Mine just has the 'Deferral of final disposition to March'

Looking at the history, it sounds like my app was never re-sent to the admissions committee.

Wait, when did you guys interview? I think OneMCATAway and I both interviewed pre-January decisions, and were deferred till March.
 
I think thats what it means. Those in the first batch say one thing, and the second batch say the other. But I think we all got re-reviewed. People have said they accepted as little as 60 in that small, selective batch.

yeah - they said they only accepted a small percentage of the class in Jan - the rest of the early interviewees have been waiting for months...month 5 for me yaaay

Isn't a 'small percentage' like 33% (I think they said they accept 1/3 of their class pre-January, and then the rest in March)? 1/3 of acceptances may or may not be 1/3 of matriculants though, so it's probably less than 33% of the incoming class comes from pre-January interviews
 
Im not sure but I also think they suggested they rejected a fair amount, as in not just everyone got differed. But probably still a lot.
 
I don't really think it's worth anything to check the status page because so far we have always received an email every time they've updated the page anyway! GL peoples only few days left
 
My status page updated at least 12 hours before I ever got the email informing me of a status change....and unfortunately I was waitlisted good luck to you all. I ended up withdrawing-this process has been way too long and it just isn't worth it for me to wait any longer. I hope you all hear better news soon!
 
just to clarify i did interview last year and was deferred, thats why the statuses are diff for everyone who interviewed after jan!! anyway good luck all 🙂

For everyone else, try not to stress. I was one of those whose interviewer never called, and didn't hear about my acceptance till about a week after people started posting theirs on SDN.

Wow! Congratulations, jturkel! 🙂 I guess now we all should be babysitting our phones

I got a weird phone call this morning, where they asked for a few other names that aren't mine... haha, i was holding my breath (but then again, it was one of those unknown calls ~sighs~ I should have known better) Now I keep checking my status page.. no updates ~tears~

Good luck to the rest of us still waiting to hear! 🙂

thanks! my interviewer mentioned that not everyone gets calls and that for those who are accepted, they have already sent packages in the mail.

there's a pretty good shot. I love Boston. I was born there and really want to go back...I have some friends at BU I went to college with and could easily figure out housing arrangements...I think it will ultimately depend on financial aid b/c of the the 46k tuition there (i wish BU could somehow give out SOME free money), but i'm leaning towards it right now. still have to hear back from a couple other schools.

yup. got it at 12:38 PM local time (Arizona, no dst). 781 area code. i just actually googled the phone number and my interviewer's name with his RESIDENTIAL location popped up as the person registered to it lol. creepy what google can find.
 
guys....i'm sure some of you are checking the status on the website. if it is any reassurance whatsoever, mine STILL says

"Current Status: Your application is now under consideration by the Committee on Admissions. "

...so those clearly haven't been updated yet. good luck everyone!

What day did you interview?
 
I am freaking out, haven't heard anything yet, and its 5pm so probably won't be hearing anything until tomorrow. Does BU know how torturous this is for us?
 
So not every interviewer calls, right?

Is jturkel the single person who heard today? Weird that only one interviewer would make their contact today and not others.

I'm sure other people have been called - only a small percentage of applicants go on sdn and an even smaller percentage actually post.

The thread BLEW UP during the march acceptances. Which we were told was only a very small percent. By this same logic, this thread would be BOOMING today was the big day. I doubt all that many people were called. Maybe just a few. Most of the physicians call on their own time and if the list just went out today tomorrow we will probably see a lot more action.

The interviewers don't have to call from the school. In january I got a call around 9pm Boston time from my interviewer on his/her cell phone.
 
Just cause I have never seen anything about my interviewer calling so I doubt he does. But just in case, please let me know.
