i've been getting tons of PMs about who i interviewed with which is more than fine. keep firing away. i would just prefer not to post who i interviewed with online so he can maintain his privacy. idk...just feels weird posting his name. lol.
 
Only 1 reported phone call on SDN... I'm assuming/hoping that there are many more calls going out, later today or tomorrow? Maybe they'll do calls over a few days?

Would you mind sharing who your interviewer was? Or pming me. I have a feeling mine is not the phone call type.

Anyone else have a lump in their throats. Steady now gents..

Wow, I'm really surprised that they're still calling, I figured after 5pm we'd be done for the day. Congrats though! 🙂

I really need to stop obsessively checking this page, its causing me an unhealthy amount of stress, but I can't stop!

okay guys... this is making me SSSOOO nervous... today is my husband's birthday and we are supposed to go out and celebrate today AND I was praying that we could celebrate my acceptance as well!!!! I have been glued to my cell phone (and him) the whole day hoping for good news... aaaahhh!!!!!

can't they just tell us already???!!!😱
 
Now that people have begun receiving phone calls when do you think our status pages will be updated or when will we receive our packets?
 
Congrats guys. BU med is a great school. I'm a GMS student here and not a med student, but i can speak nothing but respect for the medical school having had a lot of the equivalents of the first year classes and a class currently with the med students. The professors are amazing, the faculty is amazing, the students are pretty amazing too. They really value diversity and take professionalism seriously here. The professors I feel have really gone out of the way to think about how they teach compared to some of my past educational experiences. So I can vouch that if you come here you will not regret it.

To the rest of you who've been posting in here good luck. I hope you join them in the crowd of people posting here. 🙂
 
Accepted today...call around 3p. Interviewed second week of January...I think. Still waiting to hear from Columbia, but if that doesn't work out I'm for sure going to BU.

I hope so!! I really want to go to BU, an acceptance would mean the world to me...I guess we'll have to keep in mind that not everyone gets a phone call too...ahh so stressful :scared:

Good luck to everyone (and congrats to those with calls)! Guess we should get some sleep and :xf: for tomorrow!
 
I'm giving this till 10PM tomorrow night after which point I'm just gonna forget about BU, alas. I feel like this is the end of a very turmoil relationship.

1st: Apply to the school (saying you like the person)
2nd: He/She tells you they like you but doesn't want to move too fast. After months of being in the friend zone you get ONE date (interview).
3rd: Next you get the "lets still talk but see other people as well" conversation.
4th: Rejection or Acceptance aka break up or marriage proposal (I will not consider waitlist because at this point it's just cruel)

Congrats to all of the accepted and Good Luck to everyone else waiting with me! for some reason i don't have the adrenaline rush i had the first time but hopefully BU will surprise me, would love to see you all next year :luck:

Me too. I was deferred, so I'm expecting waitlist at this point. I have some ins and other great schools, but I would still love the chance to check out BU again. Really loved the ethos of the school...one of the few places where I felt like everyone actually legitimately cared about helping the diversity of patients they served.

yeah, i was deferred to and can't wait to hear a decision. i wouldn't assume a waitlist just yet. if you search on mdapps for the number of people accepted this year and the number of people accepted in years past, the number for this year up to this point is way lower. i know there's a lot of variability in how many people post on mdapps year to year, but it looks like there are a lot of acceptances left this year. and if i remember correctly from my interview day, the waitlist at bu is really small with little to no movement, so most of those acceptances will probably be out right and not from the waitlist. so let's stay positive and hope for the best! and hey, if it doesn't work out, congrats anyway because you're going to be a doctor since you have other acceptances

I think some people who are accepted never get phone calls at all, it depends on your interviewer. Until we get that rejection or waitlist email, we don't know for sure..
 
Definitely, a friend of mine received a call the night before I got my acceptance e-mail from my interviewer. Some interviewers call, others send an e-mail, and some don't send any notification...you just get a status update and accpetance package in the mail.
 
I was checking the status page as I was waking up and eating breakfast. As I got on to the transit to work, I took out ma blackberry and checking the status furiously.. But nothing yet.. I'll probably be doing the same thing until the computer blows up and smacks my face at work too..
 
Yes it is possible to get in after the first day of calls. In january calls went out over 2-3 days, with letters of acceptance (not emails, except for a few people whose interviewer emailed them) arriving a few days later.

correct me if i'm wrong everyone, but at this point, the lack of a phone call doesn't mean anything. not everyone who was accepted in january got a phone call. some interviewers call accepted applicants and some don't. it's completely up to the interviewer. so i wouldn't worry about it...but who knows, maybe this is just me perpetuating my own false hope

EDIT: haha looks like i was a little late on this one
 
lol i think it'd be HILARIOUS if this is where that whole 'find out in early april' thing comes into play (especially as all 70+ of us are constantly refreshing this page) :laugh:

i interviewed 10/7, was deferred in january, and still haven't heard anything... and I know my interview made calls in january... so i can assume 1 of 2 things..

1) He hasn't made calls yet for this round :xf:
2) I've been waitlisted/rejected 😡
 
Anyone else interview with Dr. Fuji. He's a sweet Asian pediatric cardiologist.

I did in November...he was great. Any idea if he calls folks?

I think it's Dr. Fujii, by the way.

Well...my status still reads:
"Your application is now under consideration by the Committee on Admissions."
 
I just got the call from my interviewer! It's going to be a tough decision between here and the Manhattan schools for me. Anyone know when second look is?
