I forgot what they dean's name is but he specifically mentioned it.. im still hoping we'll get a call couple days before if we're lucky.. it seems from last year's thread they started calling people Jan 11th.. anyways good luck to everyone interviewing before then and hoping to hear some good news :xf::luck:

Depends on your interviewer. Some call, some don't. Dr. Witzberg is a "caller" which makes sense cuz he is such an awesome person!!!

I went to grad school at BUSM, so I'll offer the easiest/cheapest way to get from Logan -> South End Campus. Catch the Silverline (SL1 or SL2) bus from the airport ($2.00, pay inside/get Charlie Card), take this bus to South Station. From South Station, transfer to the SL4 Silverline and take this to Newton St stop (a block from campus). Or, you can walk downtown/take Red line to Silverline (SL5). Transfers are free and I think that $2 beats $35 in bad cab fare.

I'm a big fan of the silver line. It takes you to South Station (red line). Note that the SL1 (Logan) bus is the one to take for your return trip, because there are 2 other sliver line buses from South Station and one more from Downtown Crossing, which do not go to the airport. There is also a shuttle to the blue line "airport" stop, but you should find out from where you are staying which one is more convenient for you.

BU Med is on the silver line from Downtown Crossing, and near the Orange Line MASS Ave stop. You can also go to the undergrad campus (Green line B line - Blanford St) and take their Student Shuttle right in front of their Metcalf Science Bldg.
 
Does anyone know if BU responds to "in the area" emails? I'm hesistant to overload there admissions any more, but then again, it would save me a couple hundred dollars...

Don't worry, without knowing your EC's I'd say your numbers will definitely make you a strong applicant this cycle. The two schools that have rejected you so far shouldn't be a huge let down, those are some tough schools to apply to for anyone.
 
Any mid- or late- August people not hear back yet? I haven't and it's getting to me ... :scared:

They seemed pissed off by it when I called them to let them know. Besides, I don't think they really care.

If you did want to do it though, it obviously wouldn't hurt your application. So if it's gonna save you money, then I guess it's worth a shot. But I don't know if it makes any difference.

Complete 8/19, also got the 30 day email and haven't heard. Grrr!
 
Interview invite! completed around Aug 13th. The earliest date for me was Nov 30th but i can't make it so i guess it will have to be in december... 🙁

I got a "delay" email on Oct 16 stating how slow things are going with them and they would get to my app as soon as they get the chance to do so. Have not heard since then ... whats going on?

What a weird assumption to come to! The girl has 4 publications and tons of research..I'd think those would have a bit more weight than the essay..
 
here's some (hopefully) good news for everyone complete in September and earlier: I was complete in late September and just got rejected.

Stinks for me as BU was one of my very top choices, but hopefully it means lots of you earlier folks have been reviewed and are still in the running.

Does anyone know how I would get to the Office of Admissions if I am on the Green or Blue lines? What stop should I get off, and would I need to transfer onto another bus?? 😕

Heard back pretty fast.. looks like they REALLY didn't want me haha 😉

BU will be duller without the bright lights of my sunny attitude to shine there. 😉

So I was quoted by one of the hotels they suggested at $129, then did a priceline bid and got the same hotel for $70 a night. Just a suggestion!

Anyone else interviewing on Monday and want to grab a beer after?

Has anyone else had trouble accessing their status pages? Every time I put in my email and pw, it takes me back to the welcome page. Its been doing this for over a week now!

I haven't had any problems with my status page. My status has been recently updated. Also, I used it yesterday to email the admissions office, and they emailed back today...seems to be working okay for me. Perhaps try calling them if the problem doesn't resolve itself?
 
SURE TOOK THEM LONG. complete 17/8, interview invite, yesterday.

look forward to seeing this wonderful school!

perhaps. but i do feel that boston does things slightly more randomly than the average school, and i feel that the essays seem to have a lot more weight at boston😳

Uh the Tremont Marriott or something. Its actually like a block away from Tufts, so I have to take a long ass bus ride to get to BUMC but can walk to my Tufts interview 😛

There is no T-stop next to BUMC right?

Yeah for some reason this happens on my work computer, but not on my home laptop. I really don't know what the deal is - they're both running Firefox on xp.

Boston's my last one that I have set up. Unfortunately our pal from tex was also placed on hold. However, I do remember them stating that many people are accepted off of the hold list.

hey guys,
the last time i heard that my app was "under review" was on Oct 16. Should I bug them, specially when its been 20 days now? Thinking to just email them from my app.
 
I have an interview coming up, and I was wondering what the general consensus is? Laid-back? Intense? etc.
