Other then the 200K tuition, one should add the decrease in about 2 years of lifetime due to the stress of waiting for mcat scores, interview offers, post interview offers, usmle scores, residency offers, board certification results, to the medical school cost!

lol, so true!

Having re-read through yesterday's posts, I'd like to take a minute to remind you all that you are currently applying not just to enter medical school, but also the medical profession. The things you do or say reflect not only upon you as a person, but also on the institutions you represent.

As such, I'd like you to know that we here at Case take professionalism very (very) seriously. Comments like the one from yesterday are inappropriate and therefore unprofessional.

Regardless of whether or not the internet grants you a (false) sense of invulnerability, there are some things, especially as a medical professional, that shouldn't be said. That was one of them.

...uh...awkward silence?...

So on Halloween I had 'house duty' while the fam went out to trick-or-treat for almost 4 hours (!) and I took the opportunity to sit and look at what regulars to this thread are posting in other threads...And let me just give a shout-out to you guys! People like Rockaction and Bbender et al...I am amazed how nasty some folks are in other threads and how many of you are acting mature and considerate 'out there'. You rock folks! I look forward to the day I will call you my professional colleagues!

👍👍👍👍
Hey man, just wanted to thank you for the shout-out. I look forward to that day, too! Keeping my fingers crossed and hopes high. Best of luck!

Woa woa who did what now?

It no longer exists, so never you mind.🙂

You may resume declaring your love for eggplant now.👍

Not sure what you mean, but I take offense to that. Please remain professional, it reflects on your character!

Respecting people's privacy is also a professional trait, though I am sorry you were offended by that.

So what was said that was super unprofessional and unbecoming

[CHANGING SUBJECT AGAIN]
Best of luck to you too!

I forgot so many people like BrooklynB, HouseMD?, Buffy, Homoochan, etc! But you are all professional, and courteous! Take care folks! Good luck those who are waiting for word!:xf::luck:

Myuu, what are you bringing to the 1st Annual Cleveland Eggplant Potluck?

I'm not the best of cooks ever, but I think I'm going to try slicing some up, treating with egg batter, and then letting them fry.😀

Actually, I think we should have an eggplant potluck over the summer if you guys decide to come here.😀👍 Eggplant is optional, of course.

Not to cause a 'run on posting', but we are fast approaching the 50th Page-iversary of the 2009-2010 Case Western Reserve Thread...

Now...I don't want to cause panic, but there is a limited number of spots on that page available. And I have it on good authority that it is first-come, first-serve.

I for one am gonna be there...

Have you ever heard of SDN live?

Not all of us have our settings set to display the default number of posts per page.. So, that event may have happened a long time ago, or it may be a long ways to come.

Wait. How can we make an eggplant potluck where eggplant is optional?

Edit: I quoted the wrong person but I'm too lazy to fix it.

Details that Myuu as hostess has the obligation to work out before she send us our personal invitations...btw, Myuu do you have allergies? Can I bring my rabbit?

Bottom~
(if you're displaying 50 posts per page)

So regarding the potluck, eggplant should be the main focus, but you don't have to actually bring eggplant if you don't want to.

Also, I'd be totally down with my place, except that it's a studio and is thus only big enough to hold maybe four people comfortably. There is a park nearby, though...!

So I quoted this post before you edited it. I hit the quote button, and it quoted "lalala" and I thought to myself, "Wow. Myuu really IS a ninja."

:ninja:It's true.

And at this very moment, I am a ninja on skates. This is not to imply that I am capable of doing ninja like things while wearing skates, but only that I am (or, now, was) wearing them.

I guess I know who is gonna be on the top of the 50th page, Ninja-Eggplant-Girl!

That's only if I'm around and haven't blocked SDN. I learned a good many things about top-sniping in my year off...:laugh::laugh:

Apparently, eggplant is a useful fruit for 'vegetable carvers' (I know, not a vegetable)...

i wonder what happens to all the people who submit their secondary in december.. when the hell do they interview?

Probably looking at a date in March, unless somebody cancels earlier...

It's hard to get an interview invite if you submit in December, which is one of the reasons why everyone says to submit as early as possible. It may not matter when you interview with regards to getting an acceptance, but it definitely matters when you submit a secondary for getting an interview. If you're a stellar applicant though, you'll get an invite. That said, they typically finish interviewing the last week of Feb, maybe first week of March.

that means its pretty much over for me
cuz i submitted today and
the person who just got an intw, got it for feb
im sure theres atleast 2 months of ppl after that person waiting to be reviewed

I was going to say, the waiting gets worse the farther along you go down this path.

I know I shouldn't do this, but I just can't stop myself. vc7777 and LatetotheParty bring out the cornball in me, and plus I'm just a little silly after several dozen practice questions anyway:

You "wait" seen nothin' yet
B-B-B-Baby, you just "wait" seen nothin' yet.

😳 😀

Case >>>> CCLCM
That makes zero sense. CCLCM is Case. How can we be better than ourselves? :meanie:

Actually, I think we should have an eggplant potluck over the summer if you guys decide to come here. Eggplant is optional, of course.
👍

Absolutely. No joke. Your place. Thanks for offering.
I already offered ten pages back. 😡

Wait. How can we make an eggplant potluck where eggplant is optional?
You and your trifling details. Look, people can make hamburgers out of turkey, turkey out of tofu, and tofu out of....well, never mind. The point is, if we want to have artificial eggplant, we have plenty of precedents!

So regarding the potluck, eggplant should be the main focus, but you don't have to actually bring eggplant if you don't want to.

Also, I'd be totally down with my place, except that it's a studio and is thus only big enough to hold maybe four people comfortably. There is a park nearby, though...!
It's going to be tough to cook anything in a park though. Unless you're wanting to barbeque? There are some barbeques near the greek housing. I've seen people using them once or twice. I don't think I've ever had barbequed eggplant, but I bet it would be good.

That's awesome. I wish I had that much time on my hands. 🙁

They may not get to if we run out of invites, which is why it's a bad idea to submit in December.

In case anyone is wondering, CCLCM stops interviewing earlier than the UP, in mid-February.

wheres my friend CCLCMer
Studying. If I don't pass Step 2, I won't be here to have eggplant with you all. 😳

And just so you know, I can answer these questions as I look across the lake into Canada. Except that right now it's too dark.

False!

JK guys, I'm just bitter bc I got the rej from case.
Sticks and stones will break my bones but Case will never hurt me. :meanie:
