Anyone know if this school has sent out rejections? Basically want to know if there's still any hope for me.

I don't think so. I'm sure they will start pretty soon after new year?
 
I think they send all rejections at once sometime in May after all acceptances have been made.
 
It's official!! I just got the call from Dr. Nyirady!!! I'm in the class of 2014!!! :soexcited:

Anyone know anything about the next round of interviews. I'm really hoping to get one soon....
 
Next interviews are on January 7. Then on January 27, then on February 9. There are about two interview days per month for the next several months.
 
"the call" doesn't just come on Fridays, apparently Mondays as well... I got it this morning, I'll be joining the LLUSOM class of 2014!
 
Got my acceptance yesterday (Monday) morning too!!! Look out for that 909 area code, guys. It's not just on Fridays!
 
I interviewed on these dates and haven't heard anything yet. Here's to hoping they take their time calling people...
 
Anyone got the email saying that LLU wants official transcripts? I sent in my transcripts through AMCAS so I'm a little confused why they would want my transcripts for my school now. Any one in the same boat?
 
hi everyone, i'm new to this thread.
congrats to those who got interviewed and especially to those who got accepted already. Honestly, I felt tears in my eyes reading every single post in this thread. So touching. Hope I'll get interviewed soon +
 
So apparently I was way off with the "calls only come Friday's" thing... Another one of my friends just got the call yesterday (Tuesday), so I guess that now makes 3 business days in a row for acceptances. Moral of the story: expect the unexpected!! 😱

Yep, I got that email the day after I was notified of my acceptance.
 
did they start interviewing non-SDA applicants?

I was really hoping to get an acceptance call before Christmas, but it looks like I'll have to wait until next month to hear anything.
 
By the way, as I was re-reading some of the questions on this thread I thought it would be helpful to some non-SDAs to hear a quote from one of the gentlemen who spoke at the information session on my interview date. Regarding the religious aspect of LLU, he said, "While we definitely feel that it's immoral to force our religion on anyone, we feel that it's irresponsible to ignore the religious concerns of our patients and we attempt to prepare our students to deal with that personal aspect of health care." The words may not be exactly correct, but that was the essential content of his explanation.

Did you guys receive the snail mail invite to your preferred address or permanent address?
 
Hopefully, they start sending out more invitations after the new year. My application was late, and I think a bunch more invites should be coming after the new year.

So does anyone know if all schools are on break until New Year?
 
According to the LLU website, the Admissions office is closed until 1/4/2010.

  • Wednesday, December 23, 2009: 8:30 am - 4:00 pm
  • Thursday, December 24, 2009: Closed
  • Friday, December 25, 2009: Closed
  • Mon, Dec 28, 2009 - Fri, Jan 1, 2010: Closed
Normal business hours resume on Monday, January 4, 2010.

If the rumors can be trusted, we'll be hearing more after the middle of the month after the adcom meets.
 
Today I got my interview invite in a letter through the mail. I'll soon find out which day I'll be interviewing. I'm an SDA but do not currently attend a "feeder school." Does anyone know what the stats are for LLU acceptances of SDA students that did not attend feeder schools? Mahalo for your help.
 
Your chances are pretty good, I think half of the current students I met there were SDA from other schools, both UC's and others. If anything I would think that your chances might be better just due to the fact that the "feeder schools" are fairly small and often don't offer as many research opportunities as bigger schools do, but I'm not really sure how they look at that.
