Nope, haven't heard anything. Last year there was some movement around July 1. Also, two years ago there was massive movement around the end of July (though that didn't happen last year). So those are two time points we should look forward to.
By the way, I noticed that there are several people who have been sitting on the alternate list since Jan/Feb even though loads of applicants who were waitlisted later have already received acceptances. I talked with the admission office and they informed me that the alternate list is NOT ranked. Can anyone clarify how an unranked waitlist works? Is it handled so as to maintain balance within the class (e.g. female drops acceptance, female is accepted from waitlist; or out-of-state applicant " " ", out-of-state applicant " " "). This sort of makes sense, right? I mean, lots of schools try to maintain (approx.) equal gender ratios as well as reasonable ethnic diversity. Thoughts?
