Does WashU actually let you know when you're waitlisted, or is it just another school where you have to assume that if you don't hear anything from them?
 
Hmm... I was told that some people hear back in April. So patience everyone! 🙂

Hard to have patience when I want to actually start planning for next year! It is so variable. I, like most pre-meds, like to plan everything out and have it all ready to go well in advanced. Type A, I suppose. 🙄

I really hope that this week is my week then. Although I think these "quite a few" are probably only a small percentage of the total number accepted.
 
so mailman knocks on my door today as i had to sign for an acceptance letter from my state school. as i was handed the mail, i saw a small envelope with my last name on it from Washington University in St Louis. i was like OH **** no! :scared:....... as i walked inside my house with it, i looked closer, and realized it was addressed to my sister for undergrad (i currently live at home with fam saving money for med school).

i swear i was THIS close to crapping myself. heart racing and everything. i know i didnt interview long ago (January 15th), but from what i was reading, some hear back in a month or so.

ok, another day to breathe and wait. phew.....

lol thought i'd share that story with ya guys.
 
Ahhhhhhh Wash U. Any MSTP-ers from the Jan21-22 session remember when we will hear?
 
They are meeting tomorrow... I am really nervous. I will be sitting by my phone the entire day, and definitely checking my status page at midnight. So nervous.....

Omg I'm so nervous!!! I want to go here sooooooo bad! I hope I get some good news tomorrow. Ever since I interviewed here I can't imagine going anywhere else. My little sister finds out if she gets into her first choice undergrad tomorrow and I think it would be awesome if we both got good news from our first choice tomorrow... fingers crossed!

Hooray, just got an email from Brian 1 hr ago that I was accepted to the MSTP! Despite being email, and despite being Brian, it was good news!

So they call some, but not all, accepted applicants? But everyone accepted tomorrow will have their status updated at midnight CST? And if waitlisted/rejected, no response till March...is that how it goes?

That's what it seems like. You only get a call if your interviewer wants to call you. Otherwise, your status changes at midnight CST. If you are waitlisted, you won't hear anything. If you are rejected, you will get a snailmail letter.

BTW, Future, I love your pic. I should get that poster for my lab, but I'm the only girl in there, so I don't know if the guys would appreciate it.
 
Nice wait till April I heard till their final decisions go out, since I know its over here.
 
for the meeting tomorrow, what group of applicants are the reviewing up to? i guess by that i mean, would I be eligible for that review if i interviewed on the 15th of January (exactly 4 weeks ago tomorrow)?

A pity on Wednesday.

Hopefully Rafa sees how magically our team became when *Steve Gerrard Gerrard, hes passes from 40 yards, hes big and hes ****ing hard, Steve Gerrard Gerrard* played in Center Midfield, he will play him there more often.

Suddenly our team resembled what we had last year, except we still had no strikers.

Sigh.

I am pretty sure that they review anyone who has already interviewed and keep reviewing those that they don't accept or reject outright. You may hear tomorrow. Good luck.

yeah, i would think so (although I don't know how their process works exactly). if i'm remembering correctly, i think some people have gotten accepted a week or two after interviewing.

For those of you who got called when you were accepted, what time did you get called? i.e. what time can I start staring at my phone, willing it to ring with a St. Louis area code?

i got called around 4pm central, but since it's up to the interviewers, i don't think there's any specific pattern

statuses should definitely change at midnight central for accepted students, though.

And if you didn't actually get reviewed then you also don't hear anything... 🙁 I wish they told us if we got waitlisted/rejected by status page, too.

Haha, watch no one hear back tonight. It's so strange that if you are waitlisted, you won't hear back until March.
 
Is this the school with an avg of 3.9 GPA and 39 MCAT?

Haha, and that is just their marticulated students' stats. For accepted students, the gpa/mcat average should be around 3.95/41.
 
Nothing for me. I guess that pretty much means I am waitlisted or rejected. Time to start figuring out second choice school... Congrats Longhorn.

was this the last round of acceptances?
 
Nothing changed for me either. But hey, at least the anticipation was fun while it lasted 😛.

I'm fairly sure they have one more group of acceptances that go out at the end of February. Then early March, 1/2 of interviews get Wl'ed and 1/4 of them get Rejected.
