No it doesn't. They continually review all the interviewees throughout the year. You could definitely hear some good news in December.

Hey everyone, congrats on all the acceptances and good luck to those waiting. I was wondering if anyone knows if Wash U accepts letters of interest/update prior to being offered an interview? I was complete in early August and haven't heard anything, so was thinking of sending a letter as sort of a last ditch effort since I feel like it's starting to get late. Dunno if it'll help, but thought I'd see if anyone had tried previously and if they said they don't accept them. Thanks!

I sent an update letter earlier this month. Don't know if it's helping or not, but WashU definitely accepts them. I got an email saying that the info had been added to my file. Aaaah, I hope we both get interview invites! :xf:

Interview invite yesterday for 12/10 (I live in the area). I was complete in August, so don't give up hope yet!

Hey everyone!

Totally awesome school!

Interviewed Dec 3 and loved it.

Wondering when the next committee meeting (and therefore possibility of hearing something are) (and the one after that wouldnt hurt, if you are just bubbling over with knowledge)!

Was super nervous during my interview but said a lot of good stuff too.

Fingers crossed!

Was nervous during my interview but loved the school. Such a supportive atmosphere.

If one does not hear something on the 17th (and interviewed on the 3rd) how poorly does that bode for one's chances?

Doesn't bode poorly at all. I'm not sure they'll even be reviewing your interview date at this meeting, but I don't know for sure. They have a lot of applicants to go through. And WashU re-evaluates people throughout the year, so if you don't get in now, you could get in the next round of acceptances.
 
For those that have interviewed: When they say Olin provides bed linens, does that include a blanket, etc. or should we bring our own sleeping bag? Thanks!

Blanket and pillow are included. I think the only thing you really need is a bath towel.

Where did you guys send thank you notes/letters of intent to?

I can't find contact info for my interviewer. Should i just send the thank you to the admissions office?

And I definitely want to send a letter of intent as WashU is my top choice at the moment. Should I just send an email to [email protected]?

you should be fine sending the LoI to that email address, i would search your interviewer's name on google. you should be able to at least obtain a clinical address to send a handwritten thank you letter
 
Just interviewed yesterday and loved it! I loved Wash U! What an institution. I thought the students would be super awkward and standoffish, but they were all sooo nice, like every single one. So, who knows about when the committee meets if I just interviewed? I heard it would be this Friday, but I'm sure that's too early for me. . . If I get in here, I'd be crazy not to go!

I think a while ago, someone posted upthread that people getting accepted will see a status page change tonight at midnight and in addition, some of them will get calls from their interviewers tomorrow. Would be nice if someone else confirmed it though.
 
I think the status change happens Friday nights? Could be wrong... they were very ambiguous about the whole acceptance notification thing on interview day.

For the last batch of acceptances, the status change occurred 1AM EST (midnight central time) on Saturday, not Friday. Not sure if it'll be the same for you guys, but I wouldn't worry too much if you don't see anything tonight. 🙂

See, that's the thing. I always get confused when people say Friday midnight. Which day are we talking about? Midnight tonight (i.e. right after 11:59 Thursday) or midnight tomorrow (i.e. right after 11:59 Friday). To mind it's always the former. (This causes confusion when I buy tickets for midnight shows too)

I cannot confirm this but if this year is anything like the past two years then I would expect that they will. :xf:

From last year's thread it looks like acceptances went out on the days that the MTSP board sent out acceptances (I'm guessing so the two boards can chat). This year the MTSP board sends out acceptances on November 19, December 17, January 14 & 28, and February 11.

From reading last year's thread it looks like your WUMSApply will reflect your acceptance after midnight on the days listed above (I guess there is some system update that occurs at midnight on Fridays). Additionally, some interviewers called last year to spread the good news.

Does anyone know if everyone is on the same page once they reach the interview level?

My stats are well below Washu's avg. and I am wondering how much the interview factors into their final decision.

I think the committee might've met today, but the actual status update happens @ 1AM on Sat. You might get a phone call in b/t now & then. (I think?)

When did you interview? I interviewed on December third. I have my phone about .2 angstroms from my right hand at this point, and my fingers and toes are crossed, but Im not holding my breath (thats it for the vitals now haha)

anyway great job!

haha, I know the feeling. Interviewed November 8th. Dying for an acceptance and trying to keep my hopes reasonable. AAAAACCCCCK.
 
thanks! I interviewed back in early October... so i'd say don't lose hope if you don't hear anything this weekend 🙂
