does anyone know when I could expect to hear back if I interviewed on January 11th? I do not remember what they told us, but is it that everyone hears back around march or something?

BU isn't rolling admissions. I was told the ADCOM will be meeting sometime in late Feb and that decisions will be sent out mid-March.

BU actually held its last interview day this past week. Adcom meeting in the next two weeks, all decisions to be sent out mid-march. Best of luck everyone.

Is it definitely mid-March? I recall being told end of March, and it looks like it was around 3/23 last year.

When I interviewed, they said January 10 for the first group, and we all knew by January 6 at the latest. They said late March for the second group, but it could probably be earlier.

Having worked in an admissions office, I can tell you that they always tell applicants a bit later than they expect just in case they get behind for some reason (like half of the office getting the flu in one week, which happened where I worked one year). That way they can still make their stated response date without applicants freaking out too much (even though everyone freaks out anyway).

Hey guys just an update, got an email today formally rejecting me pre-interview. Too bad, I was really looking forward to the possibilities at this place. Looks like I'll have to "settle" for Southern California, shucks. Best wishes to the rest of y'all!

Hey I just wanted to know if anyone has an idea of when to hear back for decisions in March?

Dude, this is about as definitive as you're going to get:

However, based on information at my interview day, I can add that the admissions committee is due to meet on February 29, and they plan to accept 300-400 people for 120 MD-only spots (excludes 10 MD/PhD and ~50 BA/MD, so total class size is 180). Decisions come out in "mid-March" and second look is April 28.

Is that 300-400 people for this round of decisions, or is that total acceptances including those given out in January?

Total, if I remember correctly, and it's closer to 300 than 400.

Last time I got deferred about 3 weeks after the contact info email so we may be looking at March 19 or so for decisions... just speculating.

Correct! BUSM has 2 waves of initial acceptances. The first is January after the break though the decisions are made at end of the fall semester in mid december. Second wave is the march wave after the march mass meeting for such.

1/3 are given in the first wave and 2/3 in the 2nd wave.

After that its waitlist movement.

yea you can go fuk yourself

Usually mid march to end of march are when the decisions roll out based on the last 2 years. I remember actually being on campus when they were making the decisions 2 years ago. But its usually about 2-4 weeks after they have that mass meeting in the mcnary learning rooms and dean's conference room to make decisions.

Its nerve wracking but I'd try to stay calm. Good luck.

Is financial aid here really as bad as rumored? Can some current students please chime in. I know merit scholarships were already discussed, but what about need-based aid?

And good luck with march decisions everyone!

Anyone know how many people usually get off the waitlist each year? And is the waitlist ranked ?

Someone was saying that the AdCom has already met to make their decisions for the March acceptances. Based on this would it be too late send a letter of intent to affect the March decision?

A tad.

Who said that???? Reliable source?😕

last year acceptance calls (from select interviewers) for March started to go out around the 23rd and status changes around the 26th I believe

They have never really released the numbers that get off the waitlist but there is definitely waitlist movement that I saw go on well into late June last year so it does move contrary to what they tell you. At least last year I saw movement go into end of June and then another friend get in off the waitlist right before the start of orientation.

just officially withdrew from the march deferral. hopefully it helps those of you still waiting. best of luck!

Any news for any MD/PhD candidates?

Do they hear back the same time as MD candidates?

Although I think we will hear next Monday seeing as the "update your contact info" email went out 2.5 weeks ago and it took 3 weeks between that email in December and the decisions in January, it would be awesome to know sooner. I am so tired of waiting its so stressful!

Me too! an acceptance at this point would be soooo nice!

Last year they got the contact information email the same day we did this year, and decisions started rolling out on March 23rd

I remember reading somewhere that around 15-20 people get $15,000/year scholarships and that's it for merit. Not really sure about need-based aid.

St. Patty's day makes me so excited to hear back from Boston - I imagine its awesome there. I hope everyone had a great St. Patty's and I really hope we hear back this week. Good luck

It also seems like a lot of people last year got status updates on (this) saturday

definitely nervous.. this week is going to suck!
Only a few more days to go... Last year everyone heard on the 24th (which was the second to last Thursday of the month). Looks like I'll only need a few more days worth of Tums. Good luck to everyone!
