Bumping this! The group has been growing considerably the past few days. All admitted students join the group!
I'm hesitant! I'm not positive I will be matriculating there yet 😛

I've been complete (including secondary) since late aug and still no interview. Is a pre-interview rejection imminent?
It depends on their meeting schedule. They meet once a week, and discuss the applicants they interviewed since the last meeting. If they have a meeting and discuss you before the Feb. 22 decision date, you may get your answer then. With that interview date, though, I would bet on your decision being in March.Hello,
My app was verified by Wayne on October 13th and received a secondary on October 14th. I'm an IS applicant. I was selected for interview on Feb 20th and was just wondering when the Feb decision date is and will I be considered for that batch of applicants, or do I have to wait until late March?
I would appreciate any feedback.
🙂 Thank you.
Question for current students and/or accepted students who have thought about this:
What's the opinion on the co-curricular program? Particularly the HuMed track. I'm just looking for thoughts of people who have been through it and can speak on positives and negatives.

3 decision dates left.
Feb 22
March 21
May 5
Good luck everyone still waiting!
Most likely, given a February 20 interview date, that it would be March 21. But don't quote me.

Their website says they interview from September through April, so they probably have a handful they will still send out.anyone know if wayne is still sending out interview invites??
How long were your interviews? Should I be concerned that I was only asked 2 questions and my interview only lasted like 20 mins? :s :/

Mine lasted 45 min, but don't be concerned. I also felt that my interview was pretty dull with very few questions outside of my primary app, and was still accepted.
Mine was a little under an hour. I am sure it has a lot more to do with who actually interviewed you and is not at all a reflection upon your chances of acceptance.Mine was only 20 minutes too. I was like so much for a 1-hr long interview...
did those of you who sent in your deposit hear back from the
school afterwards? they said they would send stuff in the new year but i haven't gotten squat...
I sent my deposit back early last week and got an email confirming that they received it (I was accepted January 25th).
Oh I got an email for deposit received too but no physical mail whatsoever (including acceptance mail).
Oh right, now I see what you mean. I got an acceptance mailing with a bunch of information in it. There was a reference to a further mailing that would go out regarding login information we would need to have for financial aid (? i think) but I haven't received that yet. If you've already got confirmation regarding your deposit the first mailing isn't *all* that important but I'd probably be like you and wondering where the heck it is.

I'm doing MPAC currently, and the only thing that really makes it different from the others is you go to seminars that are centered on public policy, politics, and philanthropy as they are relevant to health care and physicians. We had people like Joe Schwarz (former congressman, ENT physician, professor at Gerald Ford School of Public Policy at U of M) come and speak. I think it'll be especially important to us, the next generation of physicians, to find out about the changing health care landscape, whether through MPAC or on your own time. But other than that, we still have the same 15/30/30 breakdown that HuMed and Fabric have.
I'm enrolled in cocurricular because before school even started, I knew I was gonna volunteer in the free clinics and do other things. These extracurricular opportunities are going to cultivate a part of you that could remain stagnant all through med school should you choose not to stretch yourself. As others have said, you can certainly volunteer outside of cocurricular and challenge yourself that way. I just use cocurricular as a program that keeps me accountable and gives me that last push of willpower that I need to get my head out of the books and volunteer once in a while.
I have personally found it easier than expected to incorporate cocurricular with my studies. I typically sign up for activities that occur on the weekends, especially Saturday mornings, and very much so on the weekend following an exam, when there's nothing to do. For me, the weekends and Saturday mornings are times that I wouldn't really have anything planned, other than sleeping in. So I just suck it up and volunteer on Saturdays. Volunteering early mornings can also be a good start to a full Saturday of studying, if you're into that too.
Lastly, an unexpected benefit cocurricular has had on me is it has helped me be more organized. Since I have more going on, I've had to be more efficient with my time and more deliberate with following through on my plans. I've learned a lot from simply having to juggle more on my plate.
Those are the positives. Regarding negatives, I'd say it's another obligation on top of your work that you must maintain. It stresses you out sometimes. It takes away some of my Saturday mornings. It takes some time away from video games and friends.

Finally got an II (I've been hoping for a long time, I love this school)! Is it usually good etiquette/necessary to reply and confirm? The email only mentions contacting them if you plan to withdraw your application.
So, I've been reading this thread and just wanted to say that I received an interview for March 2nd and have a GPA of 3.86 with an MCAT of 24M. I didn't actually think I would hear back from Wayne since I was denied at MSUCHM and Oakland.
anyone?I am not from the area. What is the cheapest or best way to get to the school from the metro airport?
in state, I was accepted to MSUCOM, for next year and waitlisted for this year, but I've only applied to in state schools this year. I have a friend who has a 34 with a 4.0 and hasn't heard back from Wayne State, but he was accepted to MSUCHM and Oakland.
anyone?
Rent a car. Straight drive down I-94 from Metro to the med school, and a straight drive back. A cab would probably cost more, and there are no public transportation lines (the buses are notoriously unreliable, if any even go from the med school area to the airport.)I am not from the area. What is the cheapest or best way to get to the school from the metro airport?
Good luck to everyone whose decision date is today!
You'll be notified by email before 1pm. Mine was as expected: no change in status (still on alternate list).Does the decision come in email or snail mail? And do you know what time of the day do they give out the decisions if by email??? =.= I'm just TOOOOOO anxious....
