Interview invite today!! I am so excited; this program is unbelievable!

oos, 3.6, 33Q. Certainly not the highest stats, but good EC's.

Will anyone else be there 10/12/12?

Who is gonna be there 10/29? Where are people staying? And is there a pre-interview get together (official or unofficial) for this school?

Interviewing 10/3 and staying at the Best Western Roundhouse for now (until I can get a student host). So does anyone know how we can get a student host?

The list won't be made until students return for classes. The office said they'll email us when it's ready. Im interviewing same day and staying at the same hotel, lol. 👍
 
From looking at interview feedback from previous years supposedly it was super hard to get student hosts unless you requested it very early on.

Did anyone here write a pre-interview LOI? I don't want to be obnoxious but all of these rejections are scaring me and this is one of my top choices. I'm desperate here. Is this a good idea?

I got an email. haven't bothered to check my status page haha. (I simply archived the offending email from my inbox 😛)

Hahaha I don't blame you, I haven't heard from them in a while (around 7/11) so I was wondering if there was an other way to know if I was rejected in case that e-mail was sent to my junk folder.

Maybe my G-mail is considerate of my feelings?

your status does change to something along the lines of:

Status: Regretfully unable to offer interview invite
 
Complete for 29 days.

GIVE ME A SIGN.

Unless you have some special connection to BU (such as a family member who went there, or if you are a student there right now or have done research or volunteered there), I can't imagine that helping your application. If they were looking for that sort of essay, they'd ask.
 
44 days since I've been complete and I've heard nothing. =[
 
Got this today:

"Dear Mr. XXXX,

It has been 30 days since we sent you a notice indicating that your application was complete and had been referred to our Committee on Admissions for review. While our Committee is accustomed to reviewing a very large volume of applications, this year we have seen an unprecedented number of applications that have been completed early in the cycle. It appears that we will be able to interview only about 10% of our applicants this year, so these reviews are quite challenging. As a result, we are running several weeks behind.

I regret the fact that we have not been able to take action on your application as yet, but I want to assure you that we are moving as quickly as we can and that there will be no penalty for the delay in our processing. Applicants who are selected for interview will be contacted via email. If our Committee on Admissions concludes that we can invite you for an interview and campus visit, we will get it done!

Please accept our apology for any inconvenience caused by our extended review of your file. We expect to complete our evaluation quite soon, and wish you success with all your applications.

Man, the competition this cycle is going to be tough. AMCAS applications were also up 20%

Not trying to call you out, but you're distorting the facts a little. I know the stat you are talking about, it's on the facebook page, and it says it's due to people applying earlier than usual. It also says that apps should level off so in the end the total number of people applying isn't going to be 20% more than last year. Just that people are applying earlier than they used to.
 
Rejected, complete 7/24. Would've been a top choice but trying not to dwell on it. wompwompwomp. 🙁
 
Waited over 40 days. Checked my phone after dinner, Rejection at 9:00 PM on a Friday. Geez, way to ruin my Friday night.
 
Also rejected tonight. Stats and completion date in Mdapps
 
Just got my rejection. Complete 7/30. Good luck to you all. I'm out of this thread.
 
Rejection on a Friday night! Please, throw some more salt on my wounds lol. Oh well, BU was a long shot for me anyway, I think I pinned too much hope on the "holistic" review process. Complete 7/13, 3.9c/3.8s/30R OOS. So this brings the tally to 2 interviews, 2 rejections.
 
Well that's the end of this thread for me! rejected on a Friday night. Complete 7/16.
 
Following up the rejection rally. 3.75+/35+ OOS. Good luck to everyone else!
 
Out on Friday night for my birthday, and what do you know, a 1030 pm rejection as a birthday present! Complete 7/10 🙁
 
First reject...had to end this streak eventually :laugh:
 
also rejected last night. oh well. had to happen some time, and given the number of reaches I applied to, I'd better get used to it.
