Did anyone else get an email about campus webinars today? I interviewed earlier in October and have not received a decision, but got the "eligible for review" email a week or two ago. I'm wondering if everyone got the webinars email or if it's a good sign.

Got it too. Also interviewed in early Oct and haven't gotten a decision yet.

i got an ii, haven't done my interview yet. i got one as well.

Got one too, and I've been accepted already.

They probably just send it to anyone who has applied.

I got an interview but am still waiting on a date and I got it too. I think it probably goes to all applicants.

Anyone know how receptive IU is to update letters post interview? I just received a full-time job at a hospital, started new research, and I just had a publication come out, so I would love to update the admissions committee before they meet next. Has anyone else sent an update letter? If so, how?
They're very receptive. Send all that in! Email your update letter as an attachment to [email protected]

Interviewed 9/12, OOS, have heard nothing. How many other people in this position? I get the feeling a rejection letter will be headed my way in March. 🙁
we might have interviewed together! i was told people from our interview group could be hearing back at anytime, and not hearing in october wasn't at all a bad sign. the admissions officer i spoke with said the acceptances they usually give out in october are for kids who are likely to get acceptances to a lot of other places, and iu wants those people to consider iusom first via the early decision, scholarships, first choice of campus, etc.

I also interviewed on 09/12 and have not heard anything.

I interviewed on 9/5 and have not heard anything either.

I was waitlisted at IU last year, enrolled in a Masters program this year to try and boost my application. The interview went really well, and they gave me the impression I would be getting an acceptance letter since I had taken their advice and gone back to school for more experience. Kind of nervous at this point..don't want to go through another year of waiting month after month for the 15th only to get passed over each time..

EDIT: also, I'm IS. 3.55 gpa undergrad with a mechanical engineering degree, 31 MCAT

I got the interview invite approximately 3 weeks ago and I sent in my reply immediately, but I haven't been given an interview date yet. Is this normal? Have you guys experienced the same thing? How long is it supposed to take? I need to buy my tickets way in advance so it's not too expensive 😕

I interviewed 9/12 as well. One of the last things my interviewer told me was not to freak out if I don't get an acceptance letter right away. She said no news is good news with IU. So I'm taking her advice 🙂 Hopefully we'll all hear this month!

I feel your pain. I was waitlisted last year too and improved my MCAT score (their advice for me). My interview is coming up soon so I won't hear back for a bit, but I really can't keep my sanity if I have to go through the 15th of every month until the deadline again!

Best of luck to you. I know reapplicants who have made the improvements do stand a good chance so I am sure you will get your letter 🙂

thanks, and best of luck to you with your upcoming interview! 2nd time through is muuch easier !

I am in the same situation as you. From what I've heard, it usually takes 4 to 6 weeks to hear back about your official interview date so hopefully we will be hearing soon!

Hi! I'm in the same boat as you. Reapplicant, IS, MCAT 33, GPA 3.55 in a Masters program, and got in on Oct 15. I'm confident you'll hear good news soon also! Also never hurts to send in a letter of intention if it's your top school.

Yea, I started a Masters program this fall, final grades come out in a couple of weeks (quarter system) looking like i'll have a 4.0 after the first quarter. Once I get my grades i'll be sure and send them to IU and include a letter of intent. That is, of course, if I don't hear back this month

have you finished your masters?

No, I have not. I'm currently enrolled in my first semester of an MPH program. That 4.0 will look great though! Congrats!

Any thoughts on the best way to get to the school from the airport? (Indianapolis)

Good luck to everyone!

I know a few people took a taxi the day I interviewed. It wasn't cheap but it got them where they needed to go.

Hey, would anybody who interviewed mind sharing their experience and the kinds of questions asked? I feel like I'm walking into their interview blind. ANy help would be greatly appreciated!

can anyone give us an idea of the average in-state student accepted to IU? like give some possible mcat and gpa numbers and some extracurriculars?

Have any non-EDPers heard back yet about campus assignments? I know that from the Class of 2017 facebook group a bunch of EDPers have heard back already, was curious about non-EDPers. If not, I know the campus preference form said that they send out campus decisions at the end of each month beginning in November, so hopefully we will start finding out soon!

Do you know when the Indy lottery is? Is it one big lottery next spring/summer or do you know soon after submitting your form? Thanks.

Is anyone planning on calling on the 15th to see if the committee has made a decision on your app?

Is this discouraged? I can't imagine the admissions office wanting a hundred calls on that day.

Some advice from someone who called and was accepted last month;
Don't ask, "can you tell me if I've been accepted?"
Ask, "I was hoping you could please check my status for me." I think if they check and they see you've been accepted, sometimes they will just tell you.

Good luck!

When do you think is the earliest appropriate time to call? A few days after the committee meets on the 15th?

I really don't know, sorry. I don't think I called until the 19th, but I know people called at least on the 18th, if not earlier. Again, their official policy is to not give out decisions over the phone, so don't call and expect to get an answer. Just be super nice and ask about your status. I wouldn't call on the 15th. I'd wait at least a day or two.

I'll probably wait until the 20th or a few days after that. Hopefully I get a letter in the mail by then so that I won't have to call.

What's the protocol for people who interviewed early September? Can we call, or should we automatically assume we won't hear anything until April?

Thanks for posting this. Will definitely do this tomorrow/next week.
