There are interviews left for 3 days in march, 21st, 27th and 29th.. Mine is scheduled for the 19th, hopefully this won't be a lost cause because its so late!
Does anyone have information on whether or not they are still sending out IIs? Heard nothing from them yet...MD/PhD applicant. Not looking for pity, just answers! THANKS!Hopefully...Thanks for the info!

Oh yeah I should have mentioned I already knew that...haha...what about for regular MD though? THANKS!!!!

Asked this in the SLU thread thought I'd pose it here as well: Interviewing at Tufts on 3/5, offered interview today at SLU on 3/5. SLU has no later dates, however, I think I can move my interview at Tufts back. The question is will moving back 2-3 weeks be detrimental to my chances at Tufts?
So...yeah...IIs for regular MD...anyone know if they're still sending them?![]()
I'm tempted to make some sort of contact with admissions...but not sure about doing that. Anyone have any words of advice on such an approach?still open dates on March 21, 26, and 28! there may still be hope!![]()

Applied to 12: Rejected from 7, 5 still silent (no IIs)...although of my remaining silent 5 I already know that 2 (UConn and Yale) are done sending IIs...so it's really only 3 left. They are: SUNY Upstate, UVM, and Tufts.
Thanks.
Go for it. I emailed Dean Neumeyer directly earlier in the season and he was responsive.
Hi all, I was wondering if I could get your opinions. Would it be crazy to choose tufts over instate tuition at University of South Dakota? I really like Boston, I have a lot of family in the area, and my significant other would move to Boston with me. If I chose USD we would have to be long distant for maybe the entire four years. Are these reasons plus the difference in rankings worth the amount of debt I'll accumulate?
Just looking for advice here, would you mind sharing how you went about phrasing your inquiry to the Dean? Drawing a blank on what to say atm.Go for it. I emailed Dean Neumeyer directly earlier in the season and he was responsive.
I also applied MD-PhD and didn't hear back. Not sure what happened to my app at Tufts. I'll give them a call today.Just looking for advice here, would you mind sharing how you went about phrasing your inquiry to the Dean? Drawing a blank on what to say atm.
Let us know how it goes...good luck.I also applied MD-PhD and didn't hear back. Not sure what happened to my app at Tufts. I'll give them a call today.
Well that sucks, doesn't it (as a fellow MD/PhD applicant...)? Thanks for letting us know. I might still e-mail the dean and see what he says. If I gain any useful information from that I'll be sure to come back and post it here.Just called. My file hasn't been reviewed yet. I guess the down side of MD-PhD is that our apps sit at the bottom of the pile for MD review. It's like we applied in January. I asked when they would last review the files and she said she did not know but she knew the committee was still reviewing applications and interviews go on until end of March. Seemed like there might be at least one more II decision.
Yes, which is why I only applied to a handful of MD-PhD programs. I didn't feel I was a strong enough candidate to be invited for an interview after my app would be sent over for MD review so late in the cycle. I didn't think I was a good candidate for either the MD/MD-PhD because of my ugrad GPA. It did work out for me though 🙂 . Tufts is the only interview I would consider going at this point because I have a lot of family in the area.Well that sucks, doesn't it (as a fellow MD/PhD applicant...)? Thanks for letting us know. Yeah...my numbers are holding me back for sure. I just want to know if I have a shred of hope. Hopefully the dean gets back to me.Yes, which is why I only applied to a handful of MD-PhD programs. Bad news everybody (via e-mail between myself and admissions people). Looks like most of us will not be getting interview invites unless spots open up:Keep your head up guys! They are still offering interviews for the first couple weeks of march...just try and stay optimistic 🙂 still a chance for us!

"Thank you very much for your email. At this time of year most (if not all) of our interview invites have been passed along..."
How exactly do these spots open up? People deciding not to come for interviews OR people rejecting offers of admissions to TUSM OR both??Lol I got the exact same response when I emailed him this morning...guess we'll be crossing fingers that spots open up in the next couple weeks. Good luck everyone!

Yeah, that's what I thought would be the most likely option...who is going to give up an interview at Tufts this late in the game?! I'm guessing slim to none.I'd guess the former option. Kind of bummed since I wanted to check out Boston, but it looks like I'll just have to visit there for a vacation or save it for residency interviews.
I really just wanted to go to Boston to get a Cannoli... too bad... 😀I'd guess the former option. Kind of bummed since I wanted to check out Boston, but it looks like I'll just have to visit there for a vacation or save it for residency interviews.
Well if you do, don't listen to all the people that tell you to go to Mike's or Modern (the two big, popular/well-known places in the North End). The BEST Cannolis in the Boston area are at La Cascia's Bakery and Deli...just for your future reference and enjoyment 🙂I really just wanted to go to Boston to get a Cannoli... too bad... 😀

+1it is worth saying for anyone reading this who is holding an interview invite at tufts, if you have been accepted elsewhere and you would not go to tufts if accepted, you should decline the interview to make room for one of those hoping to interview at tufts. It will please the karma gods and you want to keep them happy as they will rule your residency app in 4 years.

Nope. We are their pokemon...except they don't want all of us.Agreed. I've never understood this mentality. When you get into a preferred school withdraw from all schools you thought less of. They're not pokemon...
