Anyone have any idea when decisions start coming out?

Anyone have any idea when decisions start coming out?
Decisions have been going out since 10/15. At my interview, they said to expect a decision anywhere from 6 weeks post-interview till may (though that 6 week time-frame may be longer than usual since it included the holidays). As has been discussed earlier in this thread, your application gets a score post-interview and they start accepting at the top and move toward the middle.

They should be starting to send them again in mid-January (if last year's thread is any indication). They normally come on Fridays, so maybe there might be some released tomorrow.

II today. Stats on MDApps. Complete 8/12/2013. Interview dates in mid Feb.

Wow congrats!! I've been waiting to hear back since mid-August, so your II definitely gives me a sliver of hope. Best of luck with your interview!

Pre-interview rejection today. Complete end of July. Good luck to the rest of you still in the running!
Tough luck exercisemed! Sorry to hear. I hope you get some love from other programs!

I was complete early in July (maybe one of the earliest days it was possible to be complete) and silence ever since. I don't even know if that's a good thing now if they're already on mid February interview dates

Received an II today with several mid-February dates open. I was complete 10/22 - so take that as you will.

If you're still waiting to hear and submitted before then, maybe try giving the admissions office a call to make sure they have your completed file and express interest in the school. I don't imagine it would hurt your chances and I know I always appreciate being continually reminded that I've done everything I can and now things are outside my control.

Good luck!

Is it possible for me to catch the 4:20 pm cape air flight from Lebanon to New York or 5:00 pm flight to Boston after my interview, or is that cutting it too tight?

II invite yesterday. OOS. After receiving pre-interview rejections from 6/10 schools (including safety schools), this was a huge shock!
cGPA: 3.7
sGPA: 3.4
MCAT: 31
(PS/V/BS): 11/9/11
Complete in late September.

Good luck to all, and any advice would be greatly appreciated! First interview!

Congrats! I don't have any useful advice since I didn't interview here (I'm still waiting on an II or rejection), but I just wanted to tell you to kill that interview, they invited you for a reason.

Good luck!

Yes it's too early. Interviews end at 3:30, so a 4:20 flight is too early from Lebanon. I took the 5:05 flight from Lebanon and my interviews ended at 3:30. So you'll be okay with the 5:05 flight. You'll just skip the tour.

The interviews here are pretty low stress and conversational, so don't worry too much about it!

Thanks, SaiphRigel! And thanks to everyone else for the positive energy! Just scheduled the interview for 2/13/14, so if anyone else is going that day, message me!

Question: if I have been offered a II, should I still send an update between now and then? I didn't have any clinical hours on my application, but now I have about 700 hours. I don't want to seem overly neurotic or anything, but this seems important.

wait until after your interview. Or better yet, make it known to your interviewer so that you dont have to send a letter later.

Thanks for the advice! I don't want to inundate them with paper and whatnot. Have a good rest of your weekend, pDeluxe!

Yay just got in! regarding the accepted students weekend, does anyone know if Dartmouth will cover travel costs?
Also accepted today by email! Life is great! I interviewed on December 3rd - Met more than a few really nice, funny, interesting applicants that day, so if you any of you also got in, PM me and introduce yourself!

Congrats guys!

... and I just got rejected pre-interview. :smack:

Complete end of August.

Congrats again to all those accepted!

Haha oh wait i am late july too... Such an interesting process.

Haha--it's just been THAT long, eh? 😉 You have some awesome acceptances though!! So all of this is icing on the cake, right?

Edit: I know it is for me (Meaning that I got into medical school and getting to choose where I go would be awesome). 🙂 I really can't complain.

Congrats you guys! So has anyone heard back who interviewed after 12/3? I was there the last week of Dec and I'm trying to figure out if the committee has discussed my application...

Rejected post-secondary. Complete sometime in late August I think. Bummer! I love Hanover.

Same here. But I would still like to get an interview at Dartmouth and possibly an acceptance just so I can say I got into an "Ivy-League" medical school haha

I hate neurotically checking!! Interviewed Dec 3 and no word...congrats to those who were accepted!

hello! I have an interview coming up, and was wondering if anyone had a hotel recommendation? The ones near the school seem so pricey 🙁
thanks in advance!

I stayed at the Marriott. It's pricey but it was clean, the bed was comfortable so I got a good night's sleep, and the staff was super friendly. If you stay there make sure to tell them you're interviewing when you make the reservation. Hope your interview goes well!

I'll second with what the above poster said. I believe the Marriott also has a shuttle that will pick you up wherever you are (which will most likely be on campus). I stayed at the Days Inn and the Sunset Motor Inn. Both are cheap alternatives, but the Days Inn is 7 miles away from Hanover. The Sunset Motor Inn was sketchy--so much so that I stayed with my student host an extra night (they offered). Obviously, the cheapest choice is staying with a student host. I highly recommend it!

If you decide to stay away from Hanover, such as the Days Inn, I advise that you call for your cab EARLY. I remember getting the complimentary breakfast at the hotel and the front desk lady told me that it might take hours for the cab to come. Bear in mind that it was raining that day, and there are only two cab services that serve the Upper Valley region. Also, she mentioned that when the weather is bad (ice, or rain and ice), some of the cab drivers call out, so there is a backlog of cab rides. For perspective's sake, I called for a cab at 11:30 that morning, and was told that I'd be picked up by 4 pm! Luckily, I managed to grab a ride with the snow plow man who gave me a private tour of Hanover while plowing the main streets 👍

Anyway, there might be better lodging choices/transportation services that I do not know of/nor explored prior to my trip to Hanover. Regardless, you'll have a great time! I loved my interview experience at Dartmouth, and could not get enough of the Hanover hospitality! It quickly became my top choice school...so here I am, waiting, hoping to hear some good news within the coming weeks...🙂

Thank you both so much! Since I'll be driving, the Days Inn sounds like not a bad / cheaper alternative. Very excited for my interview here in a couple of weeks 🙂

Good luck! I also stayed at the Days Inn. The Hanover area has a free transportation route system that you can use. It'll drop you off pretty much right in front of the admissions office and the bus stop is a 5 minute walk from the Days Inn. It was kind of awkward though because everyone stared at me in my suit and my luggage lol.

If youre driving, you can just park in front of the admissions office or any other parking lot around. they'll cover your parking cost/ticket if you get one 😛
