Yep! Have you done your FAFSA? And does anyone know when the Tulane Financial Aid Addendum for 2014-2015 will be released?Anyone else who's been accepted receive a financial aid email?
distressingly, so did I.I interviewed on Dec 2nd\
Apparently if I go to Appaloosa, Louisiana for rotations I'll be first assist on every surgery and the town has an annual chicken catching contest, so I'm already pretty sure I'll be going to Appaloosa.
Coming from the NW, I too would choose appaloosa to witness a chicken catching contest.
Don't stress out over nothing. Some admission's committee members take longer than others.distressingly, so did I.
After accepting the offer and paying the deposit, are we supposed to get.. I don't know... anything? A packet?
Congrats! It's good to know there will be at least one hard-working bastard in our class!Accepted this afternoon. Have been firmly believing for the past 3 years that MD school was completely out of reach for me. I am the luckiest hard-working bastard I know...and I know a lot of hard-working bastards.
Oh and interviewed 12/10
I would take a walk through the French Quarter as well as a walk through Uptown. I found walking those places and the areas between helped me get a better sense of the city.Hi all! I'm interviewing at Tulane next Friday. I'm planning on flying in on Wednesday so I can get to know the city prior to my interview. Is anyone else doing the same and/or does anyone have any recommendations on things to do that will help me accomplish this?
Also, I have a flight out almost immediately after the interview day on Friday, so I'm too scared to risk a lengthy shuttle ride. Does anyone want to split a cab to the airport?
Feel free to PM me!
interesting. why didn't you think you'd get into an md school and why do you think you got in @ tulane?Accepted this afternoon. When did you interview?woohoo! I just got a rejection e-mail. I thank Tulane for a quick, professional turn around. good luck everyone!
+1. Love this school too.God I hope there's waitlist movement this year, I've heard that Tulane historically accepts most of its interviewee's and it's just so disheartening to be on the acceptance range :[

I've searched this whole thread, so I'm sorry if someone's answered this already.... How long are each of the interviews and the standardized patient scenario? And does anyone know if they're open or closed file?
Student interview is about 45-60 minutes (you get lunch with them 12-1).I've searched this whole thread, so I'm sorry if someone's answered this already.... How long are each of the interviews and the standardized patient scenario? And does anyone know if they're open or closed file?
Did you send your update letter by mail? If so, who'd you address it to?
While the interviews are normally closed file, if you score an interview with Dean Beckman it will be open file since she runs admissions. It's also supposed to be a good omen.I've searched this whole thread, so I'm sorry if someone's answered this already.... How long are each of the interviews and the standardized patient scenario? Hey Everyone, I will be interviewing here next Monday at Tulane. I really need to do well in this interview as this may be my only shot at getting into medical school this cycle. I was wondering if any of you knew what kinds and types of interview questions they ask? Also, would someone mind telling me what the standardized patient scenario is? Do any of you have any tips or things that I should know beforehand? Thanks.
Negative. All interviewee's had to sign a confidentiality agreement, and should/would not give up such information. Just be yourself in the interviews. They are low stress. Good luck.
read back through this thread there are good tidbits of advice on what to say generally. honestly there is no magic shibboleth that gets you into Tulane. be yourself because, honestly, would you want to go to a school that accepted you thinking you are one person when you are another? Tulane isn't just about stats its about fit and they care as much as you do about fit in the school. no sense in faking it to make it when you could just be miserable for four years because of it.Hey Everyone, I will be interviewing here next Monday at Tulane.
